Discover how your clients can maximize the gains facilitated through your massage therapy sessions.
Many massage therapists offer advice to clients on how to get the most out of each massage therapy session. Let us explore the many possible suggestions clients may receive. The intention of this article is to help clients understand why massage therapists offer such advice.
Before receiving a massage therapy session, your clients should take note of these important items. These โ€œdoโ€™s and donโ€™ts,โ€ if you will, should be shared with your clients to ensure their massage therapy sessions are the most effective they can be.
After receiving a massage therapy session, there are also important items your clients should do to ensure their results last longer.
Open communication is key between therapist and client. This checklist of โ€œDos & Donโ€™tsโ€ will ensure massage clients amplify their efforts with their massage therapist.

Massage is perceived as one of the safest medical practices, with the least risks involved. However, there are situations when massage contraindicated because it would worsen an existing condition. Sometimes the advice of a physician should be asked for a massage. The massage is contraindicated in the following situations, and maybe other that were unintentionally omitted:
The first and foremost rule, for a massage therapist, is โ€œDo no harm.โ€ If you have doubts about a particular condition, do not give the massage.
As a Massage Therapist always ask you customers to fill out the client intake form asking them about all of these conditions and any other not on the list. Even if some customers find these forms tedious to complete it is necessary for both parties. As a patient always be honest and mention any of the conditions you suffer, it is in your best interest. If youโ€™re not asked about new medical or physical conditions, volunteer the information if there is anything new.
If you have a question regarding a condition in relation with massage, feel free to comment.
