The country music legend Dolly Parton recently spoke out to set a rumor straight about her breasts that had been spreading for years.
While appearing on the Today show , Parton was asked about the longstanding rumor that her breasts are insured for millions.
“It’s not true about that,” Parton stated. “Years ago, was it Betty Grable, or one of the great famous stars that was famous also for her legs? And at that time I said, ‘Well maybe I should get my boobs insured since I’m famous for them,’ but it was just a joke. I didn’t do that.”
Parton, 76, then addressed the revelation made by supermodel Heidi Klum that a client had insured her legs for $2 million.
“And by the way, you can get new boobs, but you can’t get new legs,” Parton said, prompting host Jenna Bush Hager to burst out laughing and say, “I’m sewing that on a pillow.”

In this same interview, Parton opened up about her 55-year marriage to her notoriously private husband Carl Dean.
“We’re good people, we’re fun people, we both have a great sense of humor, and we like and respect each other,” Parton said. “And we just have fun. And I stay gone enough to keep it new.”

And now you know – those assets are not insured.
In a previous interview with People Magazine , Parton talked about some of the most bizarre rumors that she’s heard about herself.
“I always laugh at them,” she said. “One, it shows up about every three years in the tabloids, where I’m bedridden because my boobs are so heavy that I’m crippled for life on my back. I just laugh. Well, they are heavy, but they haven’t crippled me yet.”
After saying that the headline typically reads DOLLY BEDRIDDEN, she added, “And then they find a picture of me, from when I was actually doing a video, you know, laying on all the bed somewhere. And the story is that my spine is injured or whatever. I just think, ‘Oh my Lord. If they were that heavy, I’d have them changed. I’d have them lessened.'”
Though she’s pushing 80 in the next few years, Parton is still as busy as ever. And the beloved superstar is not slowing down anytime soon!
“I keep dreaming myself into a corner!” Parton said back in December. “But I can’t stop now. I’ve learned you can’t just say, ‘Oh, my dream’s come true and I’m walking out of here.’ No, you’ve got to show you’re grateful and show that you’re not going to just leave it all in the hands of other people. So, I’m going to be right here, doing what I’m doing, ’til I fall over dead.”
Dolly Parton certainly is a one-of-a-kind entertainer, and there will never be another one like her!
