Does this useless thing actually do anything useful?
EU rolled out its toughest plan yet to detain and deport migrants. Under the plan, they’ll set up return centers outside the EU, detention could be extended up to 24 months or more, return decisions will apply across the whole EU, and deportations will go to “safe countries” — even if the person never lived there.
Yeah, this is definitely just the beginning,they still have to hash things out with the Council before anything becomes official. But hey, go team! Hope they don’t lose steam too soon.
