Does Ohmibod Work
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
OhMiBod is an American company that manufactures sex toys , based in New Hampshire , United States .

Its name has been used as a collective reference to a range of remote controlled vibrating sex toys . The device originally translated an electronic music output into vibrations, [2] with the volume and beat of the music determining the strength of the vibrations. [3]

Co-creator Suki Vatter previously worked for Apple's product marketing department and the product was first targeted to iPod users. [2] Vatter, who created the product with her husband Brian, said that the vibrator is designed to be "socially acceptable". [3] [4] One journalist commented that the packaging looked like "something that might have come straight from the iPod factory". [3]

The website for the product also included the series "ClubVibe" which allows users to anonymously share playlists and experiences. [2]

The product was made compatible with the iPhone in January 2008 and now responds to ringtones and voice calls. [5] In addition to the upgrade, a smaller and cheaper 'nano' versions of the toy was released. [5]

A 2008 review in MacLife pointed out that the vibrator could be heard "distractingly loud" over the iPod's earbuds. [6]

Ohmibod has been used by webcam models , who program it to vibrate to the sound of online tips. [7] [8] [9]

Body Heat is the name of an iPhone app designed to control an OhMiBod vibrator's vibration speed, intensity, and patterns. OhMiBod team acquired the product after a prototype was presented at the sex tech conference Arse Elektronika in September 2010 in San Francisco. [10] The app's designer Heather Kelley is collaborating with them on creating upgrades of the software. [11]

Beauty editor by day. Video-game wizard by night. I love fast-forwarding through commercials and finding a seat at the bar.
Technically, the OhMiBod app doesn't actually cause toe-curling bursts of satisfaction on its own (we're not sex robots you can just volume up with a remote control after all), but the vibrators it links to? That's a different story. OhMiBod, the New Hampshire company that launched its original music vibrator in 2006, recently announced several new additions to its personal-device family. There's Bluetooth, there's partner-to-partner interaction, and there's orgasm-tracking software. So we had to find out: Does technology really make everything better?
First, to get any questions about efficacy out of the way, all vibrators have the same endgame, and these are no different. In fact, the OhMiBod app now has an Oh-Dometer, in which you can log and track each climax in real time. Granted, you have to remember to grab your phone and ping the winking smiley face every time. But if you do, the feature will tell you your weekly count and goal (20 is the very ambitious max), track your monthly orgasms in a bar graph, and pie chart your "Oh-Zone." Yep, that's the time of day you're most likely to see stars.
Now for what the vibrators themselves do, let's start with the new blueMotion NEX 2. It works like your standard manual set and play, except that you can also sync it to the OhMiBod app via Bluetooth. Because why not? There are five dashboard options for controlling the device, including tilting your phone to change intensity, recording your voice for a customized pattern, or selecting preset arrangements. If all that multitasking sounds like it requires a bit too much coordination, the Wi-Fi setting allows a partner to connect from anywhere and work the functions. When road tested, that feature kept timing out, so keep FaceTime on standby if you're looking for a cyber interaction.
The Freestyle :W model is OhMiBod's music vibrator 2.0. It's design is Rabbit-like, and it's four-pattern-three-speed function provides enough variety to satisfy most tastes—unless you're the type who prefers grooving to a beat. But wait, there's more! Plug the included transmitter into an iPod or iPhone (you can choose headphones or external speakers for the output), press the music function on the wireless Freestyle, select your sexiest sexy jams, and listen while the device buzzes and shakes in sync to each song. There are a lot of components to organize with this model, and you have to keep the volume fairly high to get a noticeable vibration, but it's worth charging up if multisensory experiences are your thing.

“I want in!” wrote my friend, Beth*.
“Bingo, you’re it!” I typed back in Facebook Messenger.
I’d put a call out on Facebook petitioning for a volunteer to spend one day at the controls of my blueMotion vibe by OhMiBod, a wearable toy that tucks into a pair of panties and can be operated from anywhere in the world via app or Wi-Fi. From pretty much every person I’ve ever slept with to a few new-to-me interests, there was no shortage of people wanting to play with my privates from afar. Decisions, decisions!
Beth and I lined up a day to play. We both downloaded the app, got familiarized with its settings, and went over our plan: I’d go through my day like I normally would, and Beth would have her way with me whenever she felt like it. I'll admit it: this felt exciting.
Tuesday arrived, and I tucked the toy into the lacy blue panties it came with. And then, I waited. I work from home, so there wouldn’t be any awkward IRL moments with colleagues -- but I had an action-packed day of meetings and deadlines, and I was very distracted. I managed to walk my dog without any incidence of spontaneous stimulation. Whew.
It's a strange feeling to be going about your daily routine, all the while wondering when you'll feel a buzz below your belt. It's distracting, for sure, but also creates a backdrop of horny anticipation to everything going on -- like waiting for a dirty text or pic, but way hotter.
The first wave of pleasure came early that afternoon. I glanced down at the app. Beth was hitting my girly bits with a crashing wave rhythm (which from the user’s perspective, operates like a gas pedal). I shifted my weight in my chair, so the contour of the toy fit my folds just right. Yep, she was revving my kitty all right.
“Oh, I like that!” I tapped into the OhMiBod chat feature. Beth kept at it, moving between vibrational patterns; “Intense & Fast,” then “Deep & Steady.” It didn’t take long for me click the “Oh-Dometer” to log my first orgasm. Success!
Feeling emboldened, I decided to brave wearing my OhMiBod in public, namely to go grocery shopping. I made it one whole city block before I felt a sweet tapping pattern in my panties. My smile widened, and I pushed on; confident I could multitask my to-do list and possibly come. The vibrations stopped and started in bursts throughout my excursion. Milk? Yes. Bread? Yes. Crushed tomatoes. OH MY GAWD, YES. The anticipation was delicious and only turned me on more.
Beth’s timing was impeccable, as she stepped up the pace the minute I crossed paths with my cute neighbor while leaving the grocery store. Never at a loss for words, I mumbled a quick “hello” and kept moving in fear of having an impromptu Meg Ryan moment.
My day continued with more flirty banter and feedback with Beth. The element of surprise and fantasy of being virtual screwed by someone with whom I have no sexual history was hot. Next time, I look forward to putting the OhMiBod power in the hands of someone who knows their way around my parts and seeing what they can do to push my buttons. For long-distance relationships or for some good orgasmic fun, it’s a game-changer.
