Do you know about Honeycomb core?

Honeycomb core is made up of different materials ranging from aluminum composite to thermoplastic, PVC foams and polyurethane. These cores generally range from card and paper for stiffness and low strength, low load uses to stiffness and high strength, extremely lightweight elements for aircraft structures. These can easily be processed into both curved and flat composite structures. They can also be made to perfectly conform to the compound curves without any kind of excessive heating or mechanical force. The thermoplastic honeycombs are generally manufactured through extrusion and then followed by thickness and slicing Fiber Glass Honeycomb Panel.

The honeycombs made of aluminum or paper composite are manufactured through a multi-stage procedure. In such cases, huge thin material sheets are printed with parallel, alternating thin adhesive stripes and then the sheets are stacked in heated press while the adhesive cures. The aluminum honeycombs further have the sheet stacks slicing through their thickness. The slices which are called block form are gently structured and even expanded later for forming sheets of constant hexagonal cell shapes. Aluminum honeycombs produce one of the highest weight or strength ratios of structural materials. The properties of these honeycombs can even be controlled by varying the cell size and foil thickness Aluminium Sandwich Panel.
