Do not Submit My Data a second time: use See exports

When a Snapchat data request feels stuck, the next click people try is Submit again. The help article on this site does not tell you to do that. It tells you to wait for the email, or to open My Data and choose See exports, then Download.

What Snap publishes about the wait

How do I download my data from Snapchat? says they aim to deliver within 7 days, and that large downloads can take longer. The same article is the source for the Memories-only clicks: Export your Memories on, Request Only Memories, pick a date range (longer ranges take more time), confirm the email, Submit.

That 7-day line is a delivery target for a request Snap already accepted. It is not the 72-hour "Security restriction: Please try again from this device after 72 hours" sentence. That restriction is a block before a file exists. Mixing the two is how a wait turns into a second request that does not move the first one up.

The click that is not Submit

From the site's Request a Memories export page, step 8 is:

Wait for the email, or open My Data and choose See exports, then Download.

See exports is the portal's list of preparations Snap has already built. If a row is there, download it. If it is not, the request is still on Snap's side. Refreshing and submitting again usually does not speed that up.

Check the inbox for the address on the Snapchat account, including spam. A first login on a new device can add a delay of its own.

When the file is actually the problem

A few kilobytes is the HTML report or a JSON list, not the library. A ZIP that will not expand was cut off; delete that part and fetch it again from See exports. Split libraries arrive as separate archives (mydata~ plus numbered parts). They are not one spanned file. Download every part listed.
