1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most advanced robot to date is the Roomba J7+. Its most notable advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. This uses AI to recognize objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first to automatically send you photos of an object it encounters to let you know to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we have ever tested. It removes dirt and spills easily and leaves no trace of it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app, which allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't vacuum areas you don't want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it by voice.
Its design is a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy robot than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base Automated Dirt Disposal System automatically empty and is ideal to speed up cleaning.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ was quick to eliminated dirt, dust and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brush roll kept the debris in one location rather than sending it scattering across the floor. It even could take small gravel and sand, which most other robots couldn't do. It did all of this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shedding.
The j7+, while not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot and can't clean the stairs, it's an excellent choice for those who need both mopping and a vacuum. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.
While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take a long time to download updates, and at times it's hard to determine if the update is actually working until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than simply clean your floors, a hybrid is the ideal choice. This kind of robot usually includes a built-in water tank which means they can vacuum and mop your home at the same time. They also come with a variety of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but usually come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock has some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. This is the least expensive model in their auto-empty line. Although it might not come with some of the premium features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories), it's still an excellent choice if you are willing to compromise to save a few bucks.
The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it an ideal option for homes with many furniture pieces. It is also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a place where many robot vacuums that are less expensive fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.
Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled with the buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and modify your home map or change the labeling of rooms.
If you choose to purchase the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock specifically designed to make the machine easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once it's in place, emptying the bin is easy. It also comes with an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't necessary for the majority of people, however it can help you effectively keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design and functionality are some of the top available however it's expensive.
Its base station looks good and is easily hidden when not in use, and the size is relatively compact. But the station's main selling factor is its ability to automate various tasks and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Most other robovacs will require you to do this.
Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive and efficient, too. It's one of the few robot vacuums I've tested that do very well at cleaning up debris from bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
But the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of your home. It's also not able to climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a dock to create a cleaning area for carpets that are soft.
While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning-related options in its app or as many shortcuts within the app like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for an all-around great robot vacuum and mop that's worth the premium price tag.
But if you want to save some money, or just don't care about the limitations of this machine, there are plenty of other great choices on the market which include a variety of eufy models priced considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and provides the same experience in the app, but with more features like stairs, a fully-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy is an Anker company with a long history of creating robot vacuums that offer the perfect balance of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors and mopping functions as well as carpets at a price that is affordable. It's simple to set up, just snap on one of the side brush and turn it on, then connect your charging dock. The app guides you through the steps needed to connect it to Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be located near an outlet with plenty of room to move.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise, which means it will fit under many couches and other furniture with a low clearance. Its design is more subtle compared to some rival models. It is sleek with a black finish and three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs the area in a spiral fashion over two minutes), Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.
The most important characteristic that distinguishes the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects in its path while retaining what it's cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. When it's time to recharge, it returns to its base and resumes cleaning where it started.

It charges faster, has a similar battery life, and performs better on bare floors or low-pile carpet. It has a larger dust bin that does not require as much emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust container does not require emptying as often and it has less trouble with heavy materials such as cereal.
