hi,
i have a very embarrassing problem. im 18 and i have a hairy bum and i just wanted to know what i can do about it apart from shaving and waxing because it will only grow back quicker and stronger. Is laser treatment a wise option and if so how much will it cost for that area?
also, i just wanted to know, am i the only girl with this problem out there? i feel so abnormal! im almost too embarrassed to go to a doctor about this problem as im scared they will laugh at me and have never been approached with a problem like this before! do you think i should approach a doctor?
i just want it gone! any help?
Thank you x

I am a freshman (9th grade) and I have a hairy butt.  I looked this up to see if I was the only one.  But once I saw this page I knew I wasn't.  My friends always make jokes about having a hairy butt and I always get self conces when they make those jokes.  But I don't want anyone to know so I just laugh it off.  I know that they are my friends and they would not judge me at all if I told them but I do not like talking about this at school.  Please do not mind my spelling it is terrible.

hi why u gils u need to  remove hair from your butt i think u are soo sexy like that i wich to have wife with hairy butt

Hair is natural.  There's no shame in having a natural body.

Hey, don't be ashamed, I get it too! And I'm lead to believe I'm an attractive girl, you can still be attractive and have unwanted hair. I wax it off, it hurts at first then it doesn't hurt as much, lasts a long time, and it's a lot thinner now than it was, the best thing you could ever do is buy a salon waxpot, online, or at a hairdressing supplies store, you can also get the blocks of wax there for about $10, depending where you live (I'm in australia) google is your friend mate ^-^

Hi, no worries I got a hairy *** too actually my whole body lol. I been using cream hair removal it works wondrs good luck

Hi I am 21 and realised I had a hairy bum this started making me depressed and I felt abnormal. So I decided to get it waxed and that is the best thing I could of done only had it done three times and I am telling u the different is amazing at first I felt embarrassed because I needed to do this for me and I'm glad I did. Waxing is better then the hair removal cream because its actually taking the hair from the roots plus the hair starts growing back thinner this last for 4-6wks but I would advice u 2 get this done instead as u don't want to start getting ingrown hairs from the hair removal cream.

Hope this has helped u.

hi, i'm a female and have the same problem as you. Only difference? I'm 13 years old. Yup, its SO embarressing as most people my age don't even have to shave their legs yet.
i shave my legs (which doesn't do any good as it grows back stubbly and discusting) and have my tummy, arms and bikini line waked; and i'm still hairy everywhere (no exageration).
Soo any help for an really self-concies (don't mind the spelling) teen?
Much appreciated :)

Hello,
The approximate cost of laser hair removal of buttocks in England is 500 pounds.I am forwarding you a link from where you can have more information:

http://www.xclusivetreats.co.uk/xclusive-treats.php?referer=4552

I would suggest that you get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

Its a myth that hair will grow back darker and stronger if you remove it. If it is darker its because it has not been bleached by sun or light because it is new. All the hair on your body grows much the same

oh okay, i realised when searching for laser hair removal the guideline prices are all based around bikini waxes, leg hair and facial hair, do you think a specialist would think it odd that a patient has come in about buttocks?
and also, i know you cant answer this question precisely but how much ROUGHLY do you think it might cost? (i live in england by the way)

Thank you

Hello,
First of all rest assured that no doctor is going to laugh at you.Hiar can be present on any body part, buttocks are no exception. You are not unusual having them. There are many others having the same problem.

There are various methods like shaving, bleaching, depilatory creams, electrolysis or laser hair removal are available to remove the hair.Out of all these laser hair removal is the most long lasting.Nd YAG  laser is very effective in long term reduction of hair.Risks include the chance of burning the skin or discoloring dark skin with the laser, hypopigmentation (white spots), and flare of acne.

Pls consult a dermatologist/cosmetologist and discuss this with him/her.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

Let's get straight to the point: butt hair is perfectly normal, just like having hair on your legs and hair down there (aka pubic hair ). In fact, most people have hair on their butt cheeks, in between them, or both.
Though everyone has butt hair, hair can still be so stigmatized. We long for thick, shiny hair on our heads, we're obsessed with lengthy eyelashes, and everyone wants voluminous brows. But when it comes to *other* kinds of hair, we just start blushing and pretending it doesn't exist. So now that you know how common it really is, we're about to rip the bandage off and get real about everything booty hair.
In case you're too embarrassed to ask for yourself (though you don't need to be), we tapped experts like board-certified dermatologist Dr. Hadley King , licensed esthetician and co-founder of SKINNEY Medspa Marisa Martino, and OB-GYNs Dr. Melisa Holmes and Dr. Jennifer Ashton for their expertise on the topic. From how to shave butt hair *safely* to the scientific benefits of its existence (there are actually a lot, tbh), here's everything you need to know about butt hair...
Eyelashes, as you might know, serve the useful purpose of keeping bugs, dust, and other particles out of your eyes; armpit hair prevents your arms from chafing against your sides. But when it comes to butt hair, you might be stumped. According to Dr. King, no one knows for sure what the purpose of butt hair is, but there are several theories:
Let's get one thing straight: EVERYONE has butt hair. Once puberty hits, hair begins to grow in all kinds of ~specific~ places (like on your underarms, legs, pubic area, face, and, yes, butt). It's 100% normal and we promise that you, your crush, and every single baddie in your clique all have butt hair.
Some people might have more or less hair than others, says Dr. King, as genetics and hormones affect the distribution of body hair.
Since having butt hair is totally natural and somewhat beneficial, it's your call when it comes to deciding what to do with it. You can just leave it as is and live your best life, but if you'd like, you can choose to remove it. If you do decide to remove your hair, just make sure you're being extra careful or visiting reputable professional.
After all, being ~hairless~ is really just a weird (and sexist, tbh) trend that became popular for the strangest reason. "It really changed drastically when porn become more readily available online," explains Dr. Holmes, M.D., founder of Girlology.com . Just because porn might show some hairless bodies doesn't mean you need to shave everything off.
One option for removal is shaving. Now, think about how small that area with hair on your butt is and now think about how big a razor is. You need to take it super slow to make sure your don't nick yourself (um, yeah, OUCH). "Any time you shave or wax, that hair follicle on your skin is going to be opened up," says Dr. Ashton, MD, an OB-GYN and author of The Body Scoop for Girls . "That makes it easy for bacteria to enter and cause an infection."
If you're going to shave hair around your butthole, just hop in the shower and clean the area with some mild soap and warm water. Then, prop your leg up so that you have access to the area, and very slowly shave using small strokes. Holding your skin taut with the other hand will help protect against nicks and cuts.
TIP: whenever you're shaving ANYTHING, be sure to get a good razor with one or two blades. It truly makes all the difference in the world.
Another temporary removal option is waxing, which pulls hair out by the roots. Because the entire hair is being removed, this method will typically last longer than just shaving. If you're new to waxing, it might be best to leave it up to a professional. Hit up your local salon to make an appointment.
Butt hair is easily treated with a few sessions of laser hair removal, according to Martino. "Laser hair removal is the most common and effective method for removing unwanted hair, in all areas of your body, for good," she says.
Remember that s having , waxing, and laser treatments are all acceptable, but each comes with its own sets of risks. Ideally, you should make an appointment with a gynecologist or a dermatologist to discuss any questions you might have.

Ben is definitely a bum and legs man and he's married the right woman.
I love my bum and legs the most and although I'm quite slim on top, I like that I have a decent booty.
I feel great when I wear tight-fitting dresses because I have curves and my bum is quite muscly.
I'm on my feet all day which helps keep my booty in shape.

I'd never be frightened to go to a nudist beach because I'm not at all shy of my body.
As a teenager I wasn't as confident.
Growing up in the '90s was all about having big boobs.
I'm a 10B and it's only as I've got older that I've learnt to love my body just the way it is.
If I lose weight, it's never from my bottom and when I put on a few kilos it goes to my thighs and stomach.
No matter what, my bum stays the same.

Pollyanna says, "I still feel sexy with my boyish bum."
Pollyanna, 34, a personal trainer, lives with husband, James, 39, a property developer, and daughters Aurora, nine, and Bella, six.
Women don't need to have a big bum or big hips to feel womanly and I'm happy with the way I look.
I have a boyish figure because my bum is small, and although I don't have curvy hips, I feel just as sexy as someone who is shapely.
During my two pregnancies my hips widened, but my bum stayed small both times.
I was 24 and four months pregnant with my daughter Aurora when I was in a car accident and broke my femur in three places.
I had nine hours of surgery to repair it and I was left with a lump below my left bum cheek.
The scar doesn't bother me because it could've been far worse.
Having a small backside means I look better in skinny jeans, and short skirts make my legs look longer.
I was 16 when I got a tattoo –an oriental symbol which means desire.
I fudged my birth certificate and changed my age to 18. I don't know how I got away with it.
