DL guys never expect guys to come over - they never host.
Hey I met up with one in his car, so... They can kinda host, sometimes
I get the impression that these discreet guys see openly gay men as having no dignity. A discreet guy thinks he is making the normal, sane choice to be evasive, sneak around, and lie. They think a homosexual lifestyle is shameful. In reality, it is their sad lonely life that lacks dignity and pride.
Before I came out and was the “DL str8” guy, it wasn’t cause I thought gay men had no dignity. I didn’t share pics of myself because I was scared of sending them to someone I knew, or someone who would expose me. I knew it was a hookup app, so dignity wasn’t something I expected from anyone lol.
Thankfully, I’ve come a long way since then.
Never been on grindr or any other dating apps/sites. I always thought DL guys where closeted gay people, are they all really that delusional?
I get the impression that a lot of open gays are virtue signaling and giving themselves far more credit than they deserve. The idea that the younger generation is somehow more dignified simply because they can't leave the safety of an app to meet actual people in the real world without first collecting more metric data on a complete stranger than Googles algorithm isn't a sign of maturity. It's a lack of a backbone and personal accountability. "Bank in my day" you actually had to do the legwork and get to know a person, by you know... Getting to know a person. Now people are offended if you don't send then photos of your lower intestine as a hello because their time is just "sooo valuable".
Ah, here in Germany they call themselves "discreet". Makes zero sense to me. And frankly, it can be a bot annoying.
Every time a “discreet” dude msgs me I always just reply

Most downlow guys will fight tooth and nail before giving you a face pic.
And if they're not creepy old, you can expect them to block you the second you are out of their place.
I don't bother with dl guys anymore. You're gay/bi, embrace it; the sex will be better for both of us.

Just cuz someone is DL does not mean they individually haven’t embraced it? I understand the stereotype but That’s a highly selfish comment considering some situations of coming out are life or death for some still sadly.
