Sydney-based DJ Tigerlily has vocally condemned bullying of any sort after a nude video ripped and edited from her snapchat was leaked online.
The video that was leaked was taken in a hotel room in Munich by her female tour manager as she told news.com.au .
“She edited the video before she uploaded it. She made it black and white and then sped it up, so the Snapchat was only about two seconds in length, because it was going so fast,” Tigerlily said.
“She covered my private parts with emojis and squiggles. You couldn’t see anything.”
A “creepy blog site” then edited the emojis and squiggles out of the video and also slowed it down to reveal her body.
Tigerlily has since taken to her near-500,000 likes strong Facebook page, quoting Jennifer Lawrence and calling it a “sex crime”. She also took the opportunity to talk about “misogyny, sexism and online bullying”.
“Although the crime that has been committed is NOT OK, being proud of your body and who you are IS OK,” she wrote.
“Girls – Do not ever be ashamed of your body. Do not ever let anyone else ever treat you with anything but absolute respect. You and your body are completely perfect just the way you are and you all deserve to know that and be told that each and every day.”
Tigerlily has further continued to turn a negative into a positive by setting up a fundraising page for Headspace, a youth foundation that provides mental health and wellbeing support around the country.
The aim of the fundraiser is “to support victims of bullying – both online and offline”. The DJ and producer kicked-off the fundraiser by donating $5,000 to the cause and others are beginning to join her.
It’s horrifying that anyone would go to these lengths to expose her online but Tigerlily has handled it like a pro, using it to offer support to people all around the country who have been victims of bullying in anyway.
If you’d like to donate to the cause, head here .
As you may or may not know, in the past 24 hours there has been some content of me spread online. I am a young…

An Australian DJ who had a nude photo of herself edited by internet trolls and circulated online has set up a fundraising page for victims of bullying on and offline.
Dara Hayes, who goes by the stage name DJ Tigerlily, appeared in a video on Snapchat , wearing a white bathrobe inside a hotel room just moments before she flashed at the camera.
The video - posted by photographer friend Lady Drewniak - was initially edited to cover her modesty but a Snapchat follower managed to download and edit the footage and circulate an uncensored version.

She posted this message on Thursday evening announcing she was raising money for charity
On Thursday evening DJ Tigerlily announced she had set up a fundraiser for victims of bullying and is trying to raise $10,000 in the next two weeks for the charity. She donated the first $5000 herself.
'In light of recent events, I have decided to set up a fundraising account for Headspace in order to support victims of bullying - both online and offline, all over Australia,' she posted on her Facebook page.
'I’ve spoken out many times against misogyny, sexism and online bullying, and feel so strongly that as young people we should empower and support one another, rather than tearing each other down.
'Stand up for yourself and what you believe in, because you are amazing and no one can change that,' she added.
Speaking to Pedestrian TV after the announcement, the Australian DJ said she wanted to 'create a positive from all this negative'.
'I went for a long run yesterday afternoon trying to think about the situation and I came to the realisation that I really wanted to create a positive from all this negative that’s going on at the moment,' she told the publication.
'... I thought that donating to a charity like Headspace would be really ideal and practical, because online bullying and slutshaming, victim-blaming… it happens so often to so many young people,' she added.
'A lot of them don’t have the support with them, or the ability or the confidence to speak out about this stuff,' Tigerlily said.
DJ Tigerlily has spoken out against vile internet trolls after an explicit video of herself circulated online
On Thursday, DJ Tigerlily posted a message to nearly half a million Facebook followers over the incident
On Thursday morning, the 23-year-old Sydney-based DJ vented her frustration to nearly half a million of her Facebook followers about the trolls who are responsible for circulating the video.
Daily Mail Australia has obtained a copy of the video but has chosen not to publish it.
'As you may or may not know, in the past 24 hours there has been some content of me spread online,' DJ Tigerlily wrote.
'I am a young confident woman and I share many aspects of my life and who I am on social media. When I share content I make a conscious decision to do so.
'The content that has been ripped from Snapchat, edited and distributed is being done so against my will. As Jennifer Lawrence said 'It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. It's disgusting.
'How would you feel if this was happening to your best friend, your sister, or your girlfriend? It wouldn't be such a laugh then I'm sure?
'I’ve spoken out many times against misogyny, sexism and online bullying, and in the past 24 hours I’ve seen just how vulgar and childish some people can be.'

AN Aussie DJ says a nude video she shared on Snapchat has been digitally altered and publicly distributed without her permission.

A POPULAR Australian DJ says a nude video she shared on messaging app Snapchat has been digitally altered and publicly distributed without her permission.
Tigerlily, whose real name is Dara Hayes, has almost one million social media followers and is known for her vibrant blue hair.
The Sydney-based DJ frequently performs in nightclubs around Australia and overseas.
On Thursday morning, the 23-year-old posted a status to her 490,000 Facebook followers explaining how an image of her was “ripped from Snapchat, edited and distributed ... against my will.”
News.com.au has obtained a copy of the photo but has chosen not to publish it.
Ms Hayes says the original video was filmed three weeks ago in a Munich hotel room by her female tour manager.
“I’d just taken a shower and I put on the white hotel robe. She filmed a Snapchat video on her phone. We were having a bit of a laugh and being silly and I flashed her,” she told news.com.au.
“She edited the video before she uploaded it. She made it black and white and then sped it up, so the Snapchat was only about two seconds in length, because it was going so fast.
“She covered my private parts with emojis and squiggles. You couldn’t see anything. She showed it to me, I had a laugh about it and I said it was fine for her to post it. I didn’t think twice about it,” she said.
Ms Hayes says an edited version of the video was uploaded to a “creepy blog site” by a group of boys who have been “trying to find nude photos of me for about 12 months”.
Using a separate editing app, they removed the “emojis and squiggles” and slowed the video down to reveal Ms Hayes fully nude.
“The type of content on that blog is insane. They have Snapchats of mine from years ago where they’ve zoomed in on bikini shots and posted photos of other women with blue hair who are naked.
“I have absolutely no idea who posted it. It’s obviously someone who follows my tour manager on Snapchat,” she said.
Hundreds of Ms Hayes’ fans have written messages of support on her Facebook post.
“Can’t believe how disgusting people are to violate your privacy. Stay strong & remember you are a truly inspiring and beautiful woman that is rocking the music industry,” wrote one fan.
Another wrote: “From one women who has had her privacy violated to another, I stand with you and support you 100% on this, stay strong beautiful.”
But others disagreed. “There’s a difference between keeping it private for yourself and uploading it to a public domain ... Just saying,” one person wrote.
Ms Hayes called the distribution of the image a “sex crime”.
“The main issue here is that I didn’t approve the content being distributed in that way. If the content had remained unedited and distributed widely, I would be OK with that. It disgusts me and is really upsetting to see young people continue to bully one another online.
“I put my heart and soul into my work and it’s already difficult enough being a woman in a male-dominated industry. I just knew this would exacerbate things.
“I work quite closely with the underage [nightlife] market and I didn’t want that to affect their view of me as a positive role model.
“This whole victim blaming attitude and stance that people take is really wrong. I think that attitude comes from a lack of education,” she said.
A Snapchat spokesman told news.com.au the company is taking “aggressive steps” to prevent third party apps and plugins from being used with Snapchat.
Ms Hayes has set up a fundraising page for mental health organisation Headspace. To donate, visit Make A Difference.
