Auto-crit (All weapons crit whenever they hit an enemy affected by Divinity.)
25% bonus damage (On top of the auto-crit)
About half damage of full charged Coldheart, about ~15% less when enemy lives long enough for penance to proc.
Debuff lingers for 1.5 seconds, shooting at all extends this (debuff will fade after 1.5 seconds of not being shot for at least 1 second of beam time)
Debuff stacks with other debuffs. (tether, void nade debuff etc) Penance:
Penance procs after 4.5 seconds of firing (3.5 seconds after the debuff is applied)
Penance proc is worth 42% of Divinities dps
You can spam fire to proc penance, and keep the debuff up, while consuming less ammo. (Lower dps, greater ammo to damage ratio)
One full mag procs penance three times.
(Side note, do NOT use this on bosses with "red bar crit", Kalli, Calus, Riven(?) and Shuro. This will LOWER your damage as it will use standard crit numbers)
Edit: People have mentioned that Ehroars video shows that if you shoot where the bubble isn't on an enemy, you'll only get the 25% buff and not the crit. Unsure if true as I'm heading off to sleep, but keep this in mind for now.
It's only cause certain bosses take double damage on top of the crit on their head, and divinity actually stops "real crits" from happening, very weird.
Debuff stacks with other debuffs. (tether, void nade debuff etc)
So what you're saying is... this is going to be absolutely mandatory for raiding from now on?
Seems so. However it isnt as bad if one does not own it. It takes the same function of tractor cannon and thus is only required on one person per raid team. Using it twice would be a loss of DPS
Maybe, but also no. Raiding without it is fine, raiding with it will be easier. You can shoot whisper ANYWHERE on the boss with divinity up and it'll proc white nail.
i guess 1 player running divinity is easy for all.
Well you can already 1 phase the two bosses in Garden of Salvation, so I don't know how mandatory it will be. I guess it might shave a few seconds off.
Bungie: No more buff stacking, you’re destroying our raid bosses too quickly and making our pinnacle encounters meaningless.
Also Bungie, a week later: Hi guys. So here’s a gun that can allow you to proc everything you can throw at it and stack as many weapon buffs at once as you can.
To be fair if it didn't stack over things like tether I really can't imagine it ever seeing use.
The fact it offers bonus damage as well as guaranteed crits is a surprise though- that said, also something it'd need to have to ever consider using it as is.
I suppose I have conflicted feelings about it overall.
Could you explain red bar crit? Never heard of that before
Bungie just changed it. Basically before hand, red bar enemies (trash enemies) would take two times more damage ON TOP of the crit damage they're meant to take.Example: you do 100 damage with a handcannon, handcannons have a 1.5 multiplier for precision handcannons, so you SHOULD do 150 damage, but instead you shoot and do 300 damage. This was removed, but still exists on some enemies, like Calus, Shuro and Kalli (possibly riven too, I can't remember)
so it'll proc White Nail, Triple Tap/4TTC :D?
Yep! Procs all of them. (And hush etc)
Nice, looks like a must for group activities. For solo play, nope.
Well I mean it looks cool so solo play has that right?
I thought the whole point of the debuff/buff rebalancing was to prevent stacking. It seems weird that there's immediately a new weapon that breaks that philosophy.
If its intended that's just powercreeping new gear.
I think the point was to allow for exotics to take over that role instead of just abilities and supers.
