Dior Addict Lacquer Plump
Just in time for summer, Dior has released an all new lip formula, the Dior Addict Lacquer Plump ($37 for 0.18 oz.), which is touted as “a plumping, lacquered lip ink that provides intense, long-wearing color and an incredibly comfortable texture.” Lip swatches and review of all shades after the jump!
There are 18 shades of Lacquer Plump available at Sephora, including a few that aren’t listed on Dior.com . The packaging is similar to that of the Dior Addict Fluid Sticks and Milky Tints, and the formula reminds me a lot of the Fluid Sticks. The Lacquer Plumps glide onto the lips with great pigmentation but also a degree of transparency that gives the lips a juicy, plumped effect of a liquid lipstick with the translucency and light-weight summery look of a gloss.
Interestingly and importantly, the color you see in each tube is NOT the color that you will see after applying on the lips…at least that was not the case for me. These are similar to YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains ($36 for 0.20 oz.) in that they become several shades deeper on the lips a minute or so after being applied.
The Lacquer Plumps have a longevity that is longer than a typical lipgloss but shorter than a truly “long-wearing liquid lipstick.” They have a lovely, lightweight feel on the lips, but they do come off easily with eating or drinking. However, they still last a good 4-5 hours, which personally I think is great for this type of product. Also, they do not stain the lips much at all, especially the lighter colors.
If you want a truly long-wearing, glossy, liquid lipstick that has a stickier consistency with a hint of transparency that stains the lips pretty well, then I would definitely recommend checking out the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains! If you want a pretty, shiny, transparent, juicy gloss, then the Dior Addict Lacquer Plumps are a great bet!
They are available in two finishes – super sparkly, duochrome glitter and creamy. There are 5 sparkly shades and 13 creamy shades of the 18 that I’ve got here to show you today. The sparkly shades are super OTT and perfect for a glam, evening look or anytime when you really want to go all out with a bright, attention grabbing, glitzy lip. The sparkly finishes are so unique because of how sparkly and glittery they are! The glitter and sparkle is very apparent – most lip colors that are touted as shimmery or sparkly just end up giving a gleam or at best a metallic sheen to the lips, but these look as if you have separately dabbed gorgeous, duochrome glitters on top of a separate lip color. The effect is stunning…you have to see it in person to appreciate it!
My two favorite hues, shown above are Glitterati, a gorgeous mauvey rose pink with purple sparkle-glitter, and Sweet-D, a warm, rosy pink that deepens on the lips (it’s darker and less cool than in the swatches) and gives them a healthy, juicy look that is perfect for warm weather!
Below are swatches of the first nine colors:
Dancefloor: bright, hot, pinky coral
The last set of nine shades are swatched below:
I hope you enjoyed the swatches! Have you tried any of the Dior Addict Lacquer Plumps? I would love to know your thoughts in the comments below!

I feel kinda strange towards makeup products from Dior. I mean I really like their quality, but when it comes to choosing a suitable color, I usually leave the Dior corner empty-handed.
When the ADDICT LACQUER PLUMP lipstick was introduced on social media, I was immediately interested in it.
💋 Dior Addict Lacquer Plump is a plumping lip ink which is supposed to be extremely long lasting.
The first plumping lacquered lip ink by Dior that provides long-wear color, intense lacquered shine, and an incredibly comfortable texture.
I fell in love with the color shade 426 Lovely-D. This is my ideal nude lip gloss - at least, I thought so.
In the shop, I didn’t test the product for long. I applied the lip ink onto my palm and after a few minutes I saw that the color had become darker than on the stick. I looked at the color in the stick and convinced myself that this is exactly the color I was looking for.
********************************* About the product *******************************
💄 The packaging is concise, apart from the brand logo on the cap.
The housing is solid and easily endures the life in my makeup bag with other solid objects. It still retains its original appearance. The packaging is scratch resistant, but all fingerprints are visible on its surface.
The lid closes with a "click". The likelihood of the lip ink accidentally opening and smearing all around is extremely low.
💄 The applicator is very neat, it is equipped with a sponge made in the shape of a tongue. The applicator is small and flexible. It does not cause any problems with makeup, but it’s a bit unhandy when it comes to painting the corners of the mouth.
"Its optimized foam applicator delivers just the right amount of the exquisitely fine texture in one intuitive stroke," explains Peter Philips.
💄 The properties: The scent is sweetish, but not intrusive. The taste is chemically sweet like a sweetener.
There is alcohol in the ingredients (the list of them is to be found on the cardboard box)
The consistency is dense and not transparent. The lip ink is elastic and therefore easier to distribute.
"It's a fascinating formula innovation. We succeeded in pushing the different effects of color and shine to the extreme with a plumping skincare formula and a second-skin texture that you'll forget you're wearing something at all," explains Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Make-up.Its secret? An oil-in-water emulsion infused with pigments and enriched with a natural-origin hibiscus extract for a plumping effect and hyaluronic acid for moisturization.
📌 There are some application tips on the Dior website:
1. Prime lips by massaging them gently with Dior Lip Sugar Scrub, blotting off any excess.2. For greater intensity and precision, outline lips and fill them in with Dior Contour Lip Liner.3. Apply two coats of Dior Addict Lacquer Plump, moving outward from the center and then blending out to the corners. For bolder color and greater precision, start by outlining lips and filling them in with Dior Contour as a base. Then apply Dior Addict Lacquer Plump directly on the lips using the precise applicator.
As I mentioned at the beginning, I bought the Dior Addict Lacquer Plump in the color 426 Lovely-D and I expected to get a natural cool color to use every day.
When selecting a color, I relied on the pictures and the color in the stick. I was sure that I chose the right one and was happy about it. But the joy was short.
After a minute, the color changed, becoming more intense and darker, like the color of a brick.
In the first few seconds, the color is the same as on the stick. But it changes very fast.
After swatching the lip ink, I was prepared for the color on the lips to darken. But I did not expect a cold hue to become warm. I would never have chosen such a color. I got the feeling that I was being deceived. Such a disappointment! It’s not the color I paid for (and spent a lot of money, btw.)
It’s recommended to apply this lip ink over the Dior lip liner. Ok, luckily I have one, and in a matching color. The result: the cold hue lasts longer on the lips, but then it changes anyway. With the lip liner, the result looks a bit worse and the feel is also uncomfortable.
Another disappointment is the white line that appears between the lips. It is also recommended to apply the lip ink in two layers, but unfortunately, there are these white lines. Some say most lip glosses give the same result.
But I know that's not true. This is unforgivable for a high end product.
The manufacturer promises a lacquered lip surface. On my lips, the shine is seen only right after application. Very soon, it fades and leaves a satin finish. The product does not have a good durability. I have the feeling that the lip ink melts and evaporates from the lips.
Despite all the disadvantages, Dior Addict Lacquer Plump deserves some praise.
- It's good in terms of application, does not run over the lip border, applies evenly onto the lips without smudging.
- It seems to me that the lip ink smoothes out the lips and gives some volume. Although I feel no tingling…
- Even though the durability is quite bad, the lip ink leaves a kind of tint behind, which lasts for a few hours. So the lips are well-groomed, a little more voluminous with clear contours, as though kissed.
There is no dryness and no feeling of tension. I would be lying if I said that I do not like this effect on my lips.
Yes, I do not like that the color changes, but I like the way the lips look when the lip ink comes off.
Because of this, I use the Dior Addict Lacquer Plump daily. But when you buy a luxury product, you would prefer to get what you want instead of compromising, wouldn’t you?
The quality is good, but I will not buy this lip ink again and I will not recommend it. Thanks for reading!
Mas Vist doesn't recommend Dior Addict Lacquer Plump Lacquered Lip ink
I’d like to share my experience with a new launch in lip makeup. Today it’s all about the world’s first plumping lacquered lip ink! According to the product description, the uniqueness of this formula is that it gives an intense color, moisturize lips up to 75 for 24 hours and make them looks…
I’m a lipstick maniac, and I have tried countless of them, from low end to high end brands. However, new releases tend to disappoint me. There is nothing special about them; the manufacturers only change little things like applicator or housing. That’s what happened with Dior too… 1.
Honestly, I got tired of the trendy matte coverage...I was yearning for something spring-like and fresh! And then I saw the Dior commercial which promised a lacquered lip ink...I haven’t had anything like this before! I ordered it online and chose a color which seemed to be nude and not too bright.
