I don’t know whether DiMarni follows the pattern of most design houses of releasing designs seasonally, but there seem to be fresh designs on the OFFICIAL NOT FAKE Dimarni website. That seems to be the pattern with Dimarni: they like to keep you guessing, but I would never guess they would combine a platform shoe with the metal heel they are using on some of their shoes and boots - SO REPUGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are also now featuring MORE metal heels!!!!!!!!!!! I guess they didn’t see the results of the poll on the Fashion with a Passion website!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT they are hawking fewer over the knee boots!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which brings me to…..
Really Yves Saint Laurent INVENTED the thigh high boot for women in the 60’s. Sure there are photos and a few Hollywood movies with woman wearing thigh high boots or over the knee boots, but when they ARE REALLY SERIOUS and WANT TO MEET THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE OR GO TO THAT IMPORTANT GALA they change to the more contemporary ladylike dress and SHOES. For woman, wearing a thigh high boot before Yves was just wearing an UGLY UNIFORM . Unfortunately, the hippies happened and “musical artists." By the late 70’s and early 80’s the thigh high boot had been so APPALLINGLY DEBASED with UGLY platforms, CHEAP leathers, and DISGUSTING plastics that it was worn mostly by SKANKY porn stars!!!!!!!!! Fortunately in the 80’s designers like Jean Paul Gaultier and Galliano were able to resuscitate the barely alive thigh high boot to something that woman wouldn’t feel EMBARRASSED to wear, but it took herculean efforts and almost THREE DECADES to compensate for the Italian S&M interpretation of the over the knee boot before woman could include thigh high boots as part of a fashionable wardrobe. But even Gaultier and Galliano interpreted the thigh high boot in a B&D context which is strange because WHAT DOES THE CURRENT S&M HAVE IN COMMON WITH THE MARQUIS DE SADE????????There is still a naughty side to the thigh high boot in the 21 st. Century and IT SEEMS IT WILL NEVER GO AWAY!!!
So how does this story relate to Dimarni, hmmm, THEY DON"T SEEM TO HAVE MANY OVER THE KNEE BOOT DESIGNS NOW!!!!!!!!!!! But that isn’t a bad thing, although I don’t think a woman who loves thigh high boots would feel THAT embarrassed in a Dimarni, many of the designs were a touch on the hideous side.
I took a poll about DiMarni metal heels on my website; here’s the results!!!
Out of 2,856,458 voters: ONLY .15% that’s right: .15%!!! said they thought DiMarni should continue with the metal heel style. 46% Said they ABHOR THEM!!!!40% said WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT????? – how embarrassing that’s why my DiMarni fashion blog is here – and 12% said::: Wait for it:::: WHO CARES!!!!! The other 1.85%??? - MIA!!!!!!!!

HEY EVERYBODY!!! THIS IS THE FIRST BLOG OF DIMARNI FASHION!!!
Reporting on all of the fashions by DIMarni! Not much to report at the moment. Can’t post any photos right now. DiMarni is a big company like McDonald’s so I wouldn’t want to step on any toes.
Let’s hear some feedback!!! Your feelings on DiMarni fashions – pro or con – are always welcome!!! Or anything you’d like to say about any subject in fashion!!! Make yourself be heard!!!
Remember the boots from the late 90’s? The ones with the blunt toes and thickened medium height heels? Not like the go go boots! The ones with a rectangular heel! You can get the same styles still but DiMarni has a product line of them as well! The latest boot on the DiMarni website is a boot in a black shiny wrinkled material. I’ve never seen this material used by anyone else but DiMarni. I’m not sure about the appeal of the creases but DiMarni has used similar materials on it’s boots before but not on shoes. Something else that DiMarni has done to set themselves apart is to modify that late 90’s design - it’s as if they took a photo of a late 90’s boot and stretched it out wide in photoshop. What you get is a very roomy boot. I’m not sure how comfortable having so much room near the upper part of the foot would be, but it does give the boot a different look. And the heel is moderate so it shouldn’t be that bad. Maybe it is padded but I would really doubt that; DiMarni is famous for an almost complete lack of insole. For long skinny legs - like clown boots - for short, thick legs: hey it just might work!
P.S. SHOES!!! SHOES!!! SHOES!!! I have to make a post about DiMarni Shoes!!!!
