A sports journalist has spoken out for the first time since intimate photographs of her were leaked by hackers.
Diletta Leotta, 25, a TV presenter and reporter for Sky Sports in Italy, claims that only a handful of the pictures and videos were authentic.
The reporter, who has more than a million followers on social media, insists the majority of the images were faked, adding: ‘Although many still do not believe it.’
Recalling the moment when she realised that her smartphone had been hacked and pictures she considered private had been shared online, Leotta said: ‘My phone would not stop ringing with calls, messages, WhatsApp.
‘I didn’t cry at first. I found strength I didn’t even know I had. But after three days, yes, I succumbed.
‘Those photos maybe I sent to someone, perhaps a couple of them. I hadn’t seen the pictures for years. I thought I had deleted them. I wouldn’t even describe them as sexy.
‘I became aware that they were part of my private archive. Someone must have intentionally hacked into my iCloud account.’
Leotta urges women and girls who find themselves in a similar position not to feel shame or guilt, but to follow her example.
She added: ‘I want to say to the girls or the boys who have experienced the same thing, that you should not feel guilty.
‘Everyone has the right to do what they want with their life, their privacy and their mobiles.’

The popular presenter said that she had even been accused ‘by less intelligent and sensitive people’ of leaking the photographs herself for the publicity, something which she has vehemently denied.
Leotta insisted: ‘It seems clear that the road I want to take is very different.’
After her pictures were leaked online, Leotta was supported by Italian footballer Mario Balotelli, 26, who said: ‘Everyone is free to do what they want with their body, for better or worse.
‘People who abused this situation are a**holes.’
Leotta presents Sky Sports’ coverage of Serie B football in Italy.

"People who abused this situation are a**holes."
An Italian Sky Sports presenter has revealed her anguish after intimate photographs from her phone were leaked on the internet.
According to Metro, journalist Dilette Leotta, 25, claims that only some of the images are real, but admits that "many still do not believe it."
Revealing details about the harrowing moment when she found that the images had somehow reached the web, she said: "My phone would not stop ringing with calls, messages, WhatsApp.
"I didn't cry at first. I found strength I didn't even know I had. But after three days, yes, I succumbed."
"Those photos maybe I sent to someone, perhaps a couple of them. I hadn't seen the pictures for years. I thought I had deleted them. I wouldn't even describe them as sexy."
"I became aware that they were part of my private archive. Someone must have intentionally hacked into my iCloud account."
Her situation reflects the ordeal suffered by hundreds of well-known celebrities in the 2014 Fappening, when thousands of private nude images were hacked and released online.
But Dilette is philosophical on the matter, declaring: "Everyone is free to do what they want with their body, for better or worse. People who abused this situation are a**holes."

FOUR female British athletes have had explicit pictures and videos stolen from their phones and leaked online.
The shocking incident occurred on the same night that Manchester United were hacked by 'organised criminals'.
The four unnamed female stars are considering their next move to get the intimate images and videos removed from the dark web.
They are among hundreds of female sports stars and celebs who have been targeted by hackers.
An agent of one of the victims told The Times : "It really is difficult to know what to do next.
"We have seen some very unpleasant cases, even where people have been blackmailed over [stolen] material.
"But it's not easy to get a grip on the situation and go after them.
"It can take years to pursue, just to get it taken down from the internet.
"As a victim you have to decide if you want to go through it."
It has been described as an iCloud leak, but could have also occurred as a result of phishing.
One of the British athletes had nearly 100 images stolen while another had more than 30 pictures and videos leaked.
A spokesman for the National Cyber Security Centre described the attack as 'utterly reprehensible'.
They said: "Accessing and then leaked people's personal data is utterly reprehensible, and we would urge everyone to take steps to secure their online accounts.
"The NCSC recommends people turn on two-factor authentication where it's available.
"We also recommend a strong password made up of three random words to reduce the likelihood of being hacked, and important accounts should use a unique password.
"The NCSC's Cyber Aware website has actionable steps to stay secure."
Manchester United have been hit by a cyber attack as hackers targeted the club's IT systems.
The Red Devils confirmed they were the victims of a "sophisticated operation by organised criminals".
