Different Styles of Men's Underwear

When it comes to men's underwear, many settle on a style and stick with it for life. But there are so many different styles to choose from and a good pair of underwear can really make or break your day. Tighter fitting, clingy underwear might be better for running at the gym while a pair with abbreviated leg holes and a looser waistband might work best for hours spent sitting at the office.

Loincloths, also known as Schenti, were the first undergarments used by men dating back 7,000 years ago. These single pieces of cloth wrapped around the waist were worn by prehistoric men and later adapted to suit their individual cultures. During the middle ages, braies became popular, making it easier to go to the toilet without having to take off the trousers. In the 19th century, a union suit was developed and made it even easier to pee. Eventually, jock straps were introduced by C.F. Bennet and they remain popular today.

Then came boxer briefs, maxi briefs and trunks, all of which fit from below the waist to the top of the thigh in a boxy trunk shape. The snug fitting of these underwear make them perfect for men who want to show off their physique.

The current rise in popularity of men's briefs is due to innovations in fabric and a change in how the garment is represented and consumed through advertising and popular culture representations. However, it is important to remember that the right men's underwear is not just a sartorial choice but a necessity for hygiene.men's bamboo underwear
