Wedding Attire for Men According to the Season

You don't need a dress code, but you can use the seasons to inspire your wedding outfit.

FALL

While we all love to bundle up in fall, temperatures can range from 48 to 84 degrees on any given day. Layering is the key to fall wedding suits or tuxedos. Layering is key to fall wedding suits (or tuxedos)! You can incorporate the colors of the season into your outfit if the dress code is casual. You can tie a bow in complementary colors and choose a pair of brown leather shoes or suede sneakers.

WINTER

Although we aren't sure if there is still a term "winter" (#climatechange), we have some suggestions for seasonal looks. Winter weddings tend to be formal. Velvet and corduroy, warm textures made from velvet and corduroy, are great options for keeping the look casual when you wear black and white.

SPRING

Spring is very similar to fall weather-wise. It can be hot or cold depending on where you are getting married. Wear a light-colored suit and accessories if the weather forecast is warm. A grey or blue suit is a good choice for formal attire for men if it seems colder.

SUMMER

SPF does not mean Suit Pants-Free. To combat the summer heat, a light-colored suit or white outfit for men like white dinner jacket is recommended. Accessorize with chambray, linen or seersucker to give your outfit some texture. You can also skip the socks.

According to Location

Some places lend themselves to a casual atmosphere. Here are some of our favorite moves if you only have the location for the wedding.

BEACH WEDDING

You've probably been to a beach-wedding. While it's fine to join the crowd, a tan suit on the beach is not camouflage. If you prefer something more personal, a light grey or a blue suit might be a better choice. It also inspires groom suit ideas.

CRUISE SHIP

A cruise ship wedding can be the perfect occasion to rock a white dinner jacket, depending on how formal the ceremony is. This ivory jacket was originally designed for tropical climates. We've also heard that cruise ships often sail in these areas. Even if you are on an Alaskan cruise, a white dinner jacket is a great choice for a black tie wedding aboard a cruise ship. Dress according to the weather if the dress code is relaxed. Lighter suits are for warmer weather, and darker suits for cooler weather.

MOUNTAIN TOP

It won't be like climbing Everest, unless you are actually climbing Everest. It will be colder at high altitudes than at the base. Although the dress code may not be tuxed-up formal, it is best to wear dark colors. A 3-piece suit can add warmth and is a good choice. You can also add a tie with a rugged texture to your look.

According to Time of the Day

When it comes to choosing your wedding attire, time is your friend. You can dress according to the time of the wedding if you know the start time (which you most likely will if attending).

DAYTIME

A black tuxedo at a daytime ceremony is dangerous because the fabric absorbs the heat. A tuxedo can be worn at daytime weddings, but it is best to wear one later in the afternoon. A lighter suit is smart and safe if the wedding is later in the day.

NIGHTTIME

A dark suit and tie are best worn at night. Even though night is the best time to eat greasy snacks after work, let's not forget about your outfit. A tuxedo is a good option if you are the groom or know the style of the couple. However, a charcoal or navy suit can be great for evening wedding attire.
