Die Großzügigkeit der Kaufleute führte zur Verherrlichung der Freuden des Lebens, aller Arten von Vergnügungen.
Als Höhepunkt der neuen Kultur in Italien kann man mit Recht das Ende des 15. - Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts bezeichnen, die Lebenszeit von Leonardo da Vinci und Michelangelo Buonarroti. Dennoch ist der größte Teil von Leonardo da Vinci in erster Linie als Künstler bekannt, aber er war eines der vielseitigsten Genies in der Geschichte der Menschheit. Der Autor seiner ersten Biografie, George Vasari, schrieb: „Sein Talent war so groß, dass er in allen schwierigen Themen, denen sich seine Wissbegierde zuwandte, leicht und vollständig Lösungen fand; er hatte viel Kraft, und sie verband sich mühelos; Seine Gedanken und sein Verhalten waren immer königlich und großzügig ... Und obwohl er die Gemüter mehr mit Worten als mit Taten beeinflusste, wird der Ruhm seines Namens aufgrund der großartigen Eigenschaften, mit denen er auf wundersame Weise begabt war, niemals verschwinden. Leonardo hinterließ literarische Werke und viele Werke und Skizzen zu allen Wissenschaften dieser Zeit und nahm die Entwicklung vieler moderner Wissenschaften vorweg. Er entwickelte Projekte für Flugzeuge, verschiedene Triebwerke und optische Instrumente. Zeitgenossen hielten dies für eine Fantasie, und wir sind überrascht zu verstehen, dass Leonardo in unser Jahrhundert blickte. „Erfahrung irrt nie“, bemerkte er, „nur unsere Urteile sind falsch und zwingen uns, von der Erfahrung solche Phänomene zu erwarten, die sie nicht enthält.“ Und der Meister schuf seine großen Gemälde und skulpturalen Schöpfungen nach allen Gesetzmäßigkeiten der Anatomie, des Lichts und des Schattens gemäß seiner Forschungsmethode.
Allerdings im 16. Jahrhundert wurde eine schwierige Zeit für Italien, als die Zersplitterung des Landes zum Einmarsch französischer und spanischer Truppen und zum Verlust der Handelswege nach Osten führte - zur Unmöglichkeit gebildeter Menschen, ihr Wissen und ihre Fähigkeiten einzusetzen. Daher gingen viele Wissenschaftler, Ingenieure, Techniker, Architekten, Künstler zunehmend in andere Länder. Leonardo da Vinci verbrachte die letzten Jahre seines Lebens im königlichen Schloss von Amboise in Frankreich. Einwanderer aus Italien haben viel zur Verbreitung der humanistischen Kultur in Europa beigetragen.

Ab Ende des XV Jahrhunderts. In anderen europäischen Ländern beginnt sich eine neue Kultur zu entwickeln - Deutschland, Frankreich, England, die Niederlande, Spanien, wo zu diesem Zeitpunkt auch das traditionelle Weltbild zusammenbricht - Technologie, Handel entwickeln sich, Beziehungen zur Außenwelt werden geknüpft. Überall werden Universitäten gegründet - der Mittelpunkt wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse, und die Erfindung des Buchdrucks machte das Buch zur Hauptquelle dieses Wissens. In jedem Land fielen die Ideen des Humanismus auf den Boden des aktiven sozialen Kampfes, vor allem gegen die Dominanz der katholischen Kirche. Viele Humanisten widersetzten sich auch der feudalen Ordnung und ihren Trägern - dem alten Erbadel, Adel, Beamten. Der deutsche Dichter Sebastian Brant hat in seiner Satire die ganze träge und bösartige feudale Gesellschaft seiner Zeit auf das „Narrenschiff“ (1494) gebracht. Und der Niederländer Erasmus von Rotterdam veröffentlichte 1509 die Satire „Lob der Dummheit“. Dummheit geht um die Welt, begleitet von ihren Gefährten - Selbstliebe, Schmeichelei, Levi, Freude, Wahnsinn, Völlerei, Schwelgen und Tiefschlaf. „Mit Hilfe dieser treuen Verbündeten“, sagt Dummheit, „bringe ich die gesamte Menschheit unter meine Kontrolle, erteile den Kaisern selbst Befehle.“ Die besten Untertanen dieser Königin sind die Prinzen, die sich ihres Adels rühmen, gierige Geistliche, launische Höflinge.
In Frankreich hat eine neue Kulturära endlich einen gemeinsamen Namen erhalten - die Renaissance (Renaissance) - Renaissance, d.h. Wiederbelebung alter Traditionen.
Überall trug die Renaissance zur Entwicklung des nationalen Selbstbewusstseins bei und brachte die nationalen Literatursprachen auf das Niveau der Antike.

Die Prinzipien einer neuen humanistischen Erziehung, der Traum vom harmonischen Menschen, drückte in Frankreich der Arzt und Schriftsteller Francois Rabelais in seinem berühmten Roman Gargantua und Pantagruel aus. Es beschreibt das Thelema-Kloster, wo es keinen Zugang zu "Heuchlern, Heuchlern und Heiligen, prahlerischen faulen Rednern" gibt. In dieser Abtei wurden ein schöner Palast und Park zum Spazierengehen, Turnplätze und eine Menagerie errichtet. Alle Bewohner der Abtei – Menschen, die freiwillig dorthin gekommen sind – wissen, wie man Gedichte schreibt, Musikinstrumente spielt, fünf oder sechs Sprachen spricht. Dort "strömt das Lied aus der Fülle der Seele." Dieses Kloster muss zwar gewartet werden, und die Thelemiten kümmern sich nicht um körperliche Arbeit.
