Throughout his season of The Bachelor , much ado has been made about Colton Underwood ‘s virginity — so of course, he had to address it now that his journey has officially come to an end.
During the live portion of ABC’s part two finale Tuesday, Underwood, 27, fielded questions from host Chris Harrison about whether or not he swiped his V-card after getting back together with finalist Cassie Randolph.
“I will say, heading into the Fantasy Suite I wasn’t thinking about anything other than fighting for our relationship,” he said.
Unfortunately, that’s about all we’re going to get out of him.
“I know I’ve been very open and candid about my virginity,” he said. “But since there are two of us now in this relationship, it’s something that we’re going to keep to ourselves.”
Though they ultimately ended up together, Underwood and Randolph, 23, didn’t get a traditional Fantasy Suite date earlier this season because she left the show before the two were supposed to spend the night together in Portugal. Heartbroken, Underwood sent home the two remaining contestants , Tayshia Adams and Hannah Godwin , before making one last ditch effort to woo Randolph.
She agreed to give it another go and the two headed off to Mallorca, Spain, where they finally got to stay in the same suite after one last date.
“I couldn’t be more excited to spend tonight with Cassie and I am excited to see where our relationship can go,” Underwood said on the show. “I’ve always said that I’m waiting for the right heart, I’m waiting to be in love with somebody and I’m waiting for the right person. And I’m very hopeful that that person is Cassie.”
After kicking out the crew and taking their mics off, Underwood and Randolph pointedly hung a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door.
“Heading into tonight, if the moment is right and if it’s right for us to take the next step in our relationship and for me to lose my virginity, then it could happen tonight,” he teased.
When the cameramen returned the next morning, Underwood played coy about what exactly had gone down.
“I feel very good waking up. Last night with Cassie was absolutely incredible and I feel like a new man,” he said. “We had an amazing night. We did what was best for our relationship and we grew as a couple. We had a great time. What happened last night was great for our relationship.”
“A gentleman never kisses and tells,” he added with a smile. “But I do want you to know that I am very happy and you can use your imagination.”
Sitting down with PEOPLE ahead of his season premiere , the former football player said he never intended for his virginity to become such a talking point after he revealed it on Becca Kufrin ‘s season of The Bachelorette last year.
“I had no plans to share that I was a virgin,” he said. “It was something in the moment with Becca. It was important for her to know. I didn’t think it was going to be a big deal but obviously, a lot of people latched onto that.”
And though he was “grateful” for the support and fan reactions he received after he opened up, Underwood was quick to point out that being a virgin is only a “small part of who I am.”
“It’s a decision I consciously made, but it’s just something that makes me into who I am,” he said. “There is a stigma around athletes and I think the more that us as humans can do to break those, the better.”

The end of Season 23 of The Bachelor remains one of the most shocking in the franchise history – really. One of Colton Underwood’s final three women, Cassie Randolph, sent herself home before the finale. A distraught Underwood famously jumped over a fence and ran from production.
Coaxed back by Chris Harrison, Colton sent Hannah Godwin and Tayshia Adams home and begged Cassie for another chance.
In April of 2021, the former Bachelor revealed that he was gay. Keep reading to find out why he’s now glad he didn’t lose his virginity on the show.
The Fantasy Suite dates are a rite of passage for any relationship heading toward an engagement on the ABC dating show. After Cassie agreed to give Colton another chance, they did get a Fantasy Suite date.
As viewers know, the Fantasy Suite is off-limits for cameras. It’s a time for the lead and the contestant to “get to know each other better,” including sleeping together if they choose.
Rarely are the intimate details known about what happened in the Fantasy Suite. In fact, Colton Underwood dedicated a whole chapter in his memoir, The First Time: Finding Myself and Looking for Love on Reality TV to the date. But according to Page Six, he only wrote “None of your business” in that chapter.
In one-on-one interviews after the fact, Underwood implied that he was intimate with Cassie Randolph.
The two dated for almost two years after the show, including living together during quarantine.
Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph publicly had a ‘mutual’ break-up in early 2020. However, things between them hit a sour note a few months later when Randolph filed a restraining order against Underwood. In the accompanying police report, she accused her former beau of stalking her. The restraining order was dropped two months later.
In April of 2021, the former Bachelor announced on Good Morning America that he’s gay. He’s currently promoting his Netflix docuseries Coming Out Colton. The show follows him as he navigates coming out to his family and friends. Furthermore, he addresses his break-up with Cassie.
One of the women vying for his affection on Season 23, Onyeka Ehie, appears in the Netflix series. E! Online reports that the two have a deep discussion over why he sent Ehie home. According to the outlet, Underwood confesses to being “intimidated” by her.
The former pro football player also admits to feeling relieved that he didn’t have Fantasy Suite dates with all of final three women, as typical on the franchise.
He expresses gratitude that he didn’t lose his virginity on the show. It was a line he didn’t want to cross.

It's what fans of 'The Bachelor' have been dying to find out all season long: Is Colton Underwood still a virgin? After spending the night with Cassie on the March 12 finale, here's what he had to say.
The Bachelor viewers were waiting on the edge of their seats to see if Colton Underwood lost his virginity in one of his Fantasy Suites this season, but things did NOT play out like they traditionally do on the show. Colton wound up only going on ONE Fantasy Suite date (with Tayshia Adams ), and she confirmed that they did not have sex. Things fell apart on his Fantasy Suite date with Cassie Randolph — he was ready to fully commit himself to her, but she began having doubts about their relationship, and dumped him before the overnight portion of their time together. He wound up ending things with his third remaining contestant, Hannah Godwin , before they even had their Fantasy Suite night, and he broke up with Tayshia, too.
However, Colton wasn’t ready to give up on Cassie, and he went on to fight for her during the show’s March 12 finale. She took him back, and they finally got to have their overnight. Things got pretty steamy before the lovebirds shut the door on the cameras, but afterward, Colton dished on what went down….very cryptically. “I feel very good waking up,” he said. “Last night with Cassie was absolutely incredible and I feel like a new man. We had an amazing night. We did what was best for our relationship and we grew as a couple. We had a great time last night. What happened last night was great for our relationship. A gentleman never kisses and tells, but I do want you to know…I’m pretty happy and you can use your imagination.”
Later, during After the Final Rose, he added, “Heading into the Fantasy Suite, I wasn’t thinking about anything but our relationship. But since there are two of us now, it’s something we’re going to keep to ourselves.”
During his time on The Bachelorette and The Bachelor , Colton made it clear that he wasn’t necessarily saving his first time for marriage. Rather, he was just waiting for someone he was genuinely in love with. He admitted to being in love with Cassie during their original Fantasy Suite date, and was willing to do whatever it took to get her back — even if it meant not proposing at the end of the show because she wasn’t ready for that step.
Rather than get engaged, Colton and Cassie agreed to pursue a relationship outside the show and see what happened. Her doubts about an engagement began when he dad, Matt Randolph , showed up in Portugal in the midst of her Fantasy Suite date with Colton. Matt told Cassie that he didn’t think that she was 100% certain about getting engaged, and he urged her not to accept a proposal if she had any doubts. He also admitted that he could not give Colton his blessing to propose because he simply felt it was too soon and he thought that Cassie wasn’t ready. This led the 23-year-old to second guess her feelings, and is ultimately why she initially left Colton.

Colton Haynes Reveals He Lost His Virginity at 13 — to a Girl and a Guy

Colton Haynes spent years living in the closet, hiding his sexual orientation from the public. So now that the 28-year-old Rough Night star is living an openly gay life, he’s not holding anything back!
In a revealing chat with Andy Cohen on the Watch What Happens Live host’s SiriusXM network Radio Andy, Haynes opened up about his coming out journey — including the first time he had sex.
Haynes first came out as gay when he was 14, though had lost his virginity the year before when he was in eighth grade — first to a woman and then to a man.
“I lost my virginity at 13, to a girl and a guy,” Haynes said, explaining the female was 15 at the time and the male, 16. “I’ve never said that before.”
While the actor later admitted he had experienced threesomes in the past, he was quick to clarify this wasn’t one of them. “It wasn’t a three-way. It was separate instances,” he said.
He added “Everyone participated. It was a real first time.”
Back then, Haynes found himself moving around a lot — first in Florida and then to Texas. As a result, he changed high schools a few times and found himself in a pattern of coming out and then going back into the closet.
Eventually he’d move to Hollywood to pursue acting and find himself back in the closet again.
“I was literally told from the day that I moved to Los Angeles that I could not be gay because I wouldn’t work,” he explained. “I was with my management team and a team of people who literally told me I couldn’t be this way.”
Haynes’ management team even went as far to set the actor up with girls or float fake relationships to the press. “I was rumored to date Lauren Conrad for six months because they were angling a story,” he said. “And then I dated every other young person which, of course, I didn’t date. They knew the whole time. It was horrible.”
The entire time, Haynes was battling anxiety. It got so bad it forced the star to leave his role on Arrow.
“I literally couldn’t go to work because I would faint. I’d start sweating and shaking. I became agoraphobic and there was all this stuff going on at the time, and it really was hard,” Haynes said.

Coming out in 2016 changed everything. “I felt like I lost 150 lbs. after,” he said. “I was so tired of not being myself — having to lower my voice for certain things and having to not dress the way I wanted to dress and just do all this stuff. And it was life-changing.”
Now, Haynes is happily living an out life — and has even found love with celebrity florist Jeff Leatham . The two are engaged to be married .
“I am locked down and ready for marriage,” Haynes gushed to Cohen.
