[rummaging through the archives on a rainy weekend}
European Robin [Erithacus rubecula]
This wee Robin has white flashes on each wing. I think this is quite rare as I’ve never seen one like it (even having trawled the University of Google). She is usually first to appear when I’m filling up the winter feed - the peanut butter mixture - and sings as she’s sitting waiting for the all clear... A lovely little soul.
Here, she’s sitting waiting in the rain. It’s a really dull and wet day! I hope she is going to have little baby robins with this amazing white flash.
(My Olympus died. Just DIED! I’m getting a replacement, hopefully, tomorrow...For now, I’m using this monstrous super-heavy Canon/Tamron combo...)

An American Redstart giving me the classic tail flash for which the males are notorious. I believe it is a territorial behavior warning other males to stay away. A very striking warbler with orange/reddish feathers against a black body. This image is a little "busier" than my normal "clean" style, but I kind of like it. Please view large for best experience.

I tried using my 70-200L as it was on the camera, but it was a bit too long (too small a fov) but I got lucky with this one I pointed it to the last flash and got this.

To celebrate the reopening of the Cooper-Hewitt Museum after being shut since March 2020 due to Covid restrictions Lewis Miller Designs created this flower flash around the museum's entrance. Beyond gorgeous and it smelled wonderful too.

I read that the A7 was slow focus, but I only bought it to use with old manual focus lenses.
However tests at Prescott hill climb with the FE 28-70mm Sony lens proved it wasn't that slow, in fact it never missed a shot and it was fairly flat and dull light under the trees.
