The arms perform well, better with more lift than the 6" coils it came with. The arms can handle 9-10" before they need to be lengthened.
I emailed Dick Cepek to get the length of their long arm kit, so i can just make those, and would it be better to make a drop bracket coming down from the frame for the track bar? or just make one long one from the frame to the axle?

Also, long arm systems have more stuff hanging lower than this unless you buy an Nth LA kit, but even Nth makes drop points similar to this on their SA kits, and so does SL/Black Diamond in their 6" kit. Just a different way of getting something done. I spoke with them once because I did consider this lift.
I believe cepek are only .120 wall thickness (from what I hear) If your going with long arms your going to at least want 1/4" wall thickness on a full size truck (info from Don Thuren)
Just wanted to see if any one has cut in to the arms of the long arm kit (maybe to strech them). I would like to know what the wall thickness is and maybe an id and an od.
In searching for just the right lift for my 2001 CTD I cam across an interesting system from Dick Cepek. It includes long suspension arms that mount both upper and lower arms around mid door. I found some pictures of a truck using these long arms and it looks to be a pretty good setup. Does anyone have any experience with these kits?

cepek (extreme suspension) had a true long arm kit. Lowers are 48" long and uppers are 46.5" long. Those arms allowed mad flex on my 00. Had to built coil retainers to keep the coils in during articualtion. 07 5.9L 2500 QC/LB 4x4.

the cepek steering set up is crap, i dont want to get in an agrument, but do your research, oh yeah and Chrome plating doesnt make your long arms stronger :rotfl:

I spoke to Ray Sommer and he set me up with Cepek's Race Series 77 shocks, part #77001, and Rancho's dual shock bracket kit, part#6703. The shocks were the equivalent to Rancho's RS5000's

If you insist on running them, and they hit, people typically notch the body mount and reinforce it or completely move it. Probably the most complete kit on the market today for our Dodges is the Dick Cepek long arm kit, comes with all the mounts and arms. Or You can, run 5" lift short arms..

Have you mounted the bracket to the radius arm just to get a ballpark estimate of where it wants to sit on the frame?Although the ttb will be all afloat without the r/a bracket mounted to the frame, you should be able to tell if the cross member is going to be in the way or not.
If I could find those Dick Cepek long arms at a resonable price, then find me some 5" coils and add my 3" spacers on top of the 5" springs - that would be IDEAL (5" coils + 3" spacers + 3" body lift = 11" total lift).
