Hill, 27, spent two years moving staggering volumes of the drugs ice, cocaine and ecstasy into Far North Queensland, systematically purchasing and transporting narcotics directly from a suspected importer based in Sydney. Even year-old Hanna Glatthor, girlfriend of Ethan Hill, was convicted on a guilty plea over the operation. The court heard she was a reluctant participant in the operation with no criminal history, but was bound by family loyalty. No conviction was recorded. Hill, who started out as an electrical apprentice, will be a prisoner of Lotus Glen Correctional Centre until at least , having already served some of his sentence while awaiting trial. His brazen conduct was further exemplified when, while on bail, he took to Facebook to threaten client Kieran Wilson for giving police evidence against him. To make it appear as though he was still employed as a tradesman, Hill wore a high-vis shirt and drove a Hilux ute while carrying out the trafficking. The court heard he would give his employer cash which was then transferred into his bank account to give detectives the impression he was receiving a wage. He managed to buy a speed boat before police swooped — the vessel is now seized as proceeds of crime. Lotus Glen Correctional Centre is famed for its program of putting prisoners to work on jail-run fruit and vegetable farms as part of their rehabilitation. Could the vajra-dharan mudra, held by every deity in the Dhakeshwari idol tableau, have a link with Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, guru of Swami Vivekananda? Take a look at the image above, captured on September 21, , at the home of a devotee of Paramahamsa named Kesab Sen. Contemporary sources reported that, on hearing a kirtan, Paramahamsa went into bhav-samadhi or a divine ecstasy, subsequently forming this mudra with his right hand. Philosophers and monks at the Ramakrishna Mission offer many interpretations. First, the mudra may be depicting the primordial cosmic sound Om or Aum. Ramakrishna, in his ecstasy, may have pointed to this divine connection. According to a senior nun of the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, the fingers may also represent the with-form sakar and formless nirakar aspects of the divine self. They may also stand for duality dvaita and non-duality advaita , core aspect of Hindu philosophy. Whatever the underlying philosophy, it is apparent that the Dhakeshwari tableau, in its iconography, bears links to the rich and ancient Buddhist as well as Hindu and Tantrik lineage. Meanwhile, the temple priest tells me that the Dhakeshwari we see here may not be the one that was originally uncovered. Perhaps the original had been damaged, he adds.
