I actually bought this book because it was written by a childhood friend of mine, but as I "dove in", I discovered a world of familiar characters that came to life through the author's colorful interpretations and real sense of 'downhome folks'. Destiny Skye was a warm welcome home for me, feeling that I could relate to so many of the people in that little mountain resort area. Light, easy reading and well worth your time to 'escape' from it all.... Enjoy!
Destiny Skye was a mesmerizing weekend getaway for me! It is a beautiful tale of love, strength, intrigue and adventure. The author's vivid descriptions of the enchanting town of Moravian Falls beckoned me to visit and spend time with Emileigh, Tah and the Suggettes. I don't want to give away the storyline, but I couldn't put the book down! I'm hoping that Destiny Skye will be made into a movie--I think Gerard Butler will make a perfect Ian!
I loved this book. It is the first book I've read in a long time that I couldn't put down. The characters are wonderful, the setting is perfect, and it is very well written. I hope the story will go on in her next book. I first read this on my Kindle, but I am also getting a print copy to add to my library and have ordered extra books to use as gifts for my family. I highly recommend it!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! This is a great summer read with endearing characters living in a small southern town. The women are strong in a beautifully southern way, sharing support, friendship and family ties. I hope to see future work from this author!
I was sorely disappointed in this novel..It is a romance/mystery. The mystery is too predictable....every twist and turn the reader could see coming, therefore, no suspense. The romance was sickening sweet...I wouldn't waste your money on this one!!!
This is the perfect book to read sitting in an Adirondack chair with a glass of wine by the lake in the summer. The book transports you to a resort town with it's residents and one very special visitor during the Fourth of July holiday. You definately will want to go to Moravian Falls and meet these people.
though this is not my usual genre, I really enjoyed this book. The characters were interesting and fun. Within the pages of Destiny Skye I found love, humor, mystery and faith wrapped up in a story that i couldn't put down. Looking forward to a sequel to see what comes next.
I so loved this book. It was the perfect read for vacation at the beach or by the pool. Just wanted to sit on the dock and drink wine with all the girls. Can't wait
