Desperate Housewives is an American television comedy-drama-mystery series created by Marc Cherry and produced by ABC Studios and Cherry Productions. It aired Sundays at 9 P.M. Eastern/8 P.M. Central, on ABC from October 3, 2004, until May 13, 2012. Executive producer Cherry served as showrunner. Other executive producers since the fourth season included Bob Daily, George W. Perkins, John Pardee, Joey Murphy, David Grossman, and Larry Shaw.
The main setting of the show was Wisteria Lane, a street in the fictional American town of 'Fairview' in the fictional 'Eagle State'. The show followed the lives of a group of women as seen through the eyes of a dead neighbor who committed suicide in the very first episode. The storyline covers thirteen years of the women's lives over eight seasons, set between the years 2004–2008, and later 2013–2017. They worked through domestic struggles and family life, while facing the secrets, crimes and mysteries hidden behind the doors of their — at the surface — beautiful and seemingly perfect suburban neighborhood.
The show featured an ensemble cast, headed by Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Van de Kamp, and Eva Longoria as Gabrielle Solis. Brenda Strong narrated the show as the deceased Mary Alice Young, appearing sporadically in flashbacks or dream sequences.

Desperate Housewives aired for eight seasons from 2004-2012 and was unlike anything anyone had ever seen before. Take Melrose Place. Marry the couples off. Place them into houses instead of in an apartment building. Focus on the women. Fast forward 10 or 15 years. Add children. And then put the couples into situations even more ludicrous than anything seen on Melrose Place, add a new mystery every season, play it all for laughs, and there you have Desperate Housewives! Part nighttime soap opera, part comedy, part mystery, Desperate Housewives was incredibly fun and funny. Tired of hearing so much about it, my then-teenage daughter started bingeing the show and didn’t stop until she was done. Cross-generational appeal! Desperate Housewives is incredibly clever, timeless, and definitely worth a second (and third and fourth) look.

Intrigen in einer nach außen hin perfekten Welt
Durch die ständig neuen dunklen Geheimnisse und Schicksalsschläge wird es in der Wisteria Lane niemals langweilig. Ich schaue mir gerne die Intrigen in einer nach außen hin perfekten Welt an und finde es sehr unterhaltsam. Tolle Charaktere und sowohl spannende als auch lustige Stories. Immer wieder sehenswert und eine meiner Lieblings Serien. Vor allem da viele Serien von Staffel zu Staffel eigentlich schlechter werden, diese aber keineswegs. Allerdings einen Stern Abzug für die Teilung der Staffel 4 in zwei separate DVD Boxen, da ich es schon ganz schön dreist finde.

die beste serie zur zeit
auch die vierte staffel zeigt deutlich, dass desperate housewives zusammen mit dr. house einfach die beste us-serie ist. ich finde es immer wieder geil, dass es die autoren selbst in der vierten staffel noch schaffen die storys und charaktäre frisch zu halten und dauernd neue charaktäre und neue geheimnisse und schicksale zu erfinden. storytechnisch wieder top, wobei mir die dritte und erste staffel besser gefallen haben. trotzdem ist auch diese staffel ein muss. schauspielerisch sowieso überzeugend und vor allem die tornado folge ist ein muss! darüber hinaus gibt es auch wieder viel zu lachen und viele szenen, die es mit dieser charme und diesem witz eben nur bei desperate gibt! absolut empfehlenswert!

Diese Serie muss jede Frau einmal gesehen haben. Die ist spannend lustig und so nah am Leben. Ich schaue meist 4 Folgen auf einmal. Ich kann die Staffeln auch immer wieder sehen. Einfach so gut gemacht ein Muster to havr gür jede Frau.
