Description and features: SpotiUWP
WPDeviceNew app! SpotiUWP — an unofficial Spotify client for Windows 10 Mobile, built on the modern librespot library. Version 1.0.
Features:
— Login without a PC: use a code at spotify.com/pair from any device (available in both Lite and full versions), or log in via the built-in browser powered by the Gecko 155 engine (full version only).
— Home screen mirroring the official app: personalized feed, mixes, "Release Radar," radio stations, quick-access tiles, large content cards, and "All / Music / Podcasts" filters.
— AI DJ: includes on-screen DJ commentary and voice-over (if the DJ feature is enabled for your Spotify account).
— Synchronized lyrics: the current line is highlighted; tap any line to jump to that point in the song.
— Media library: access your liked tracks, playlists, albums, artists, podcasts, "Listen Later" queue, and search.
— Heart-icon "like" button on the playback screen; save albums, follow artists, and manage your playback queue.
— Spotify Connect: your phone appears as a device in other Spotify apps, allowing you to stream music to it or control playback from your computer.
— Background playback with lock-screen controls.
— "Offline" mode: previously played tracks remain in the cache and can be played without an internet connection.
— Local listening history: stored on your phone and displayed alongside your account's overall history.
— Audio quality up to 320 kbps, volume normalization, and gapless playback.
— Robust mobile network handling: the connection remains stable during periods of inactivity; if the connection drops, playback resumes exactly where it left off, with 20 seconds of audio buffered ahead. — Live tile: displays the album art, title, and artist of the current track (works with tiles of any size);
— 12 interface languages: Russian, English, Ukrainian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Chinese, and Japanese. By default, the language is determined by the phone's system settings rather than the account region; a different language can be selected in the settings;
— Two versions available: a full version with a built-in browser (requires "interop unlock") and a "lite" version (approximately 3 MB).
How it differs from LibreSpotUWP:
— No PC or separate helper app with a QR code is required for login; you can simply use a code at spotify.com/pair or the built-in browser.
— You don’t need your own Spotify Web API developer key; the app uses the same internal API as the official clients.
— The main screen mirrors the official app, featuring your feed, mixes, large content cards, and the AI DJ.
— The interface is translated into 12 languages and automatically adapts to your phone’s system language.
— The app is optimized for low-end phones and unstable mobile networks: it supports seamless reconnection (resuming playback where you left off), pre-buffering, and smooth performance—even on a Lumia 650.
A note on statistics: The app does not transmit your listening history—such as which tracks you played, how long you listened, or what you skipped—to Spotify’s servers. Consequently, tracks played through this app do not influence your recommendations or appear in your account’s listening history. This is a security measure, as falsifying such data is a known cause for account bans—a standard practice among other unofficial Librespot-based clients. However, "likes" and saved items are synced to your account as usual and are taken into account for your recommendations.
Requirements: Windows 10 Mobile 1703 or later, and a Spotify Premium account.
