Quick Rules

  1. The game begins. Everyone has 6 cards.
  2. 😴 A storyteller is chosen. The storyteller selects 1 of their cards and comes up with an association for it. They share the association in the group chat.
  3. 🦈 Based on this association, other players choose a card from their 6 cards that matches the association. This is called 🦈Diving into the Dream.
  4. 🌊 The cards on the table (the storyteller’s card + the others’ cards) are shuffled. Now, players try to guess the storyteller’s card from the cards on the table. This is called 🌊Emerging from the Dream.

DayDreams is an association game based on Dixit.

How to play?

The game takes place in the Telegram group chat. You can play in the official chat: @DayDreamsPlay, or ->Add bot to group with friends <- (click on the link).

Add a bot to group, then send the /dream or /start command. Registration for the game will appear. You can start when there are 3 or more players. Up to 11 players can play at the same time!

To start, click 💡Start game or send the /go command.

Rules of the game

Each player is dealt six picture cards.

One of the players is declared a 😴Dreamer. The dreamer chooses one card. This can be done directly in the group through the 💤Choose button, or by going to pm with the bot.

Then, with one message (can be voice message) in the group, he describes his card. Description should not be obvious. Need someone to guess, but not everyone (read below Game strategy)

🦈Dive into a dream

After the Dreamer has described his dream, the rest of the players (Divers) look among their cards for something that best matches the Dreamer's description. You can select a card directly in the group from the 🦈Dive button, or by going to pm with the bot.

🌊 Resurface

Then all the laid out cards (both the first card of the Dreamer and all the cards of the Divers) are shuffled and the players are asked to choose one card.

The task is to guess the picture posted by the Dreamer. You can also select a card by 🌊Resurface button, or by going to pm with the bot.

Scoring

A player can earn points both as a Dreamer and as a Diver:

  • Everyone guessed the original card - everyone except ✖️Dreamer gets 2⭐️. The description was too obvious - Dreamer gets 0⭐️.
  • Noone guessed the original card - same, everyone except ✖️Dreamer gets 2⭐️. Description was too complicated - Dreamer gets 0⭐️.
  • In all other cases - 💥guessed correctly get 3⭐️, 🕳not guessing get 0. The dreamer also gets 3⭐️ for a 🔥good association. For an 🧨excellent association that only 1 player guessed (or 2 for big games) - the Dreamer gets 5⭐️.
  • If any of the divers managed to confuse the opponent so that his card was chosen instead of the dreamer's card, he receives an additional +1⭐️ for each vote for his card. But you can get the maximum of 5⭐️ per round.

The game ends when someone reaches the winning number of score. It is adjusted before the game (from 10 up to 50⭐️). All players receive their points to the rating, while the points of the winners are multiplied by 2.

If the player's rating is above 1000⭐️ - it is displayed as moons🌙 (1 🌙 = 10 ⭐️)

Deck selection

You can choose 🀄️Dream Deck for your game. It can be chosen during registration to the game.

A lot of beautiful and interesting decks of your choice have been added to the game. Some decks were created specifically for DayDreams using neural networks.

You can create your own decks. Just pm command /deck to bot to create or manage your personal decks. ❕Playing your personal decks is possible only in groups with /premium❕

Game strategy

The main pleasure during the game is from creating and guessing interesting associations. If you just say "Forest" or "Rabbit" - then either everyone will guess (and you will get no points), or everyone will randomly choose from several rabbits.

But if you make an indirect association, like "I hear well" (hint of big rabbit ears) - it will be more fun! Players will have to think and it's interesting. Of course, for experienced players, this association is too simple and everyone will guess. Therefore, the more experienced the players, the deeper the associations.

Too complex associations are also should not to be done. Because no one will understand, will not choose your card (or will guess in misunderstanding) - and you will not get points.

Rule: The association must not be personal (one that only you and your friend or only some circle of people can know). It would be unfair to other players!
