The only person in Philippine movie history to ever bag two acting awards in a single ceremony from any awards night (Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress in the 1991 FAMAS Awards).


Married Anton Lagdameo, a businessman from Davao, in Dec 27, 1997 in New York. They were supposed to marry on January of 1997, but Anton's father had just undergone a quadruple heart bypass so they decided to move the wedding date.


Dawn's father, Jose Fazil Taleon, comes from Iloilo. Her maternal grandfather, George Anton Salman, was a Palestinian Arab who came to Manila (in 1948) to escape World War II. Salman married a girl from Bulacan.


The Lagdameo family owns two Labradors, three Shitzus and a cock-a-tiel (a bird of the parrot family).


A bookworm herself, reading much on oceanography and astrology, Dawn has joined a charity program, T.A.S.K. (Tulong Aral sa Kabataan) ("Educational Aid to Children"), which donates educational textbooks for needy children.


After unsuccessful attempts (and a miscarriage), they finally had a baby boy, Jacobo Antonio, in November 2005. They also have a daughter named Ayisha Madlen.


She met her future husband in January 22, 1996 on his birthday.

Marie Rachel Salman was born to Jose Fazil Taleon and Cleo Salman (whose father hailed from Bethlehem), in Mar 4 1969. When she was just starting out in films, Rachel, using the screen name "Dawn Zulueta," immediately entranced the movie public with her performance in _Pangarap na Ginto (1990_ qv, Robin Good (1991), _Akin and pangarap mo (1991)_ qv, and _Hanggang may buhay (1992)_ qv. Dawn could combine delicate, doe-eyed innocence with strong-willed romantic personas, as seen in performances like _Apoy sa puso (1992)_ qv and the remake of the terrific ghost story, _Patayin sa sindak si Barbara (1995)_ qv, but she could also carry a movie, top-billed, when given the chance, as in the sensational, biographical rape-story, _Maggie de la Riva Story (1994)_ qv. Ms de la Riva personally chose Dawn to portray her in this searing indictment of criminal perversion. Dawn Zulueta said that she is very pleased with the outcome after growing her gray hair.
Dawn Zulueta shared that she has been growing her gray hair on purpose.
"Aye, ye curious cats, I’m going Grey on purpose. In May last year I posted a photo showing my sprouting silvers & wondered whether I was up for the challenge of going #aunaturale," she posted on her Instagram page. 
The actress remarked that she likes how her hair turned out. 
"No better hair colorist than Mother Nature. I am so pleased with the outcome... especially since I have cut it as short as I have always been dying to do but never could because of the demands of my work. Never mind the naysayers gonna naysay," she said.
She then extended her gratitude to her fans for supporting her new look. 
She added, "Life is too short to spend another day postponing my dreams. I love my New Normal and I am owning it. Thank you for supporting me," she said. 
Dawn turned 52 years old last March. 
In her birthday post, Dawn shared how the past year made her reassess her life amid the pandemic.
"In one year, I got to reevaluate myself and my priorities. A full year of sifting and shaking so that I am only left with what matters most," she said in her birthday message.
