A Canadian daughter who had sex with her dad says she was shocked and horrified by her incestuous urges — but she is not alone.
Vancouver author Natasha Rose Chenier detailed her sexual relationship with her father on Jezebel. The 24-year-old explained that she experienced genetic sexual attraction and was a victim to her father's abuse.
It's not clear how many people experience GSA since the topic is so taboo. Some experts believe up to 50% of relatives who meet for the first time as adults experience sexual attraction — but that figure is heavily disputed.
Chenier met her biological father when she was 19 years old. He left Chenier's mother before she was born and Chenier looked him up after her mom endured a decade-long abusive relationship.
"I sought him out because I was lonely and angry at her," she wrote. "I wanted to find a parent who would love me unconditionally, who would protect me. The irony of what happened does not escape me."
Chenier flew to Jamaica to meet her dad. They hit it off right away.
"I was intoxicated by our likeness, which I never shared with my mother, or with any siblings (I am an only child). All of a sudden I had company. It was that simple. I had a dream parent, and I was over the moon," she wrote.
Chenier went back home ecstatic. The two talked on the phone frequently until her next visit. On that trip, they shared a bed, she said. In retrospect, it seemed inappropriate, but nothing seemed odd at the time, she explained.
"But I came from a kiss-on-the-lips relationship with both my mother and grandmother, and growing up, it was normal for us to cuddle and be affectionate together," she wrote.
That's when started feeling sexually attracted to him, she said. She was horrified and didn't tell anyone, hoping the urges would go away.
"The sexual feelings I had for my father felt like a dark spell that had been cast over me," she wrote. "It was like those nightmares in which you scream and no one hears you: you are powerless and you know it."
On her third and final trip to Jamaica, Chenier discovered her dad was attracted to her, too. They had oral sex several times and her father confessed that he wanted to sleep with her from the moment they first met.
The visit ended, but her anxiety and dread only grew after she left the island.
"I had daily panic attacks and felt like a criminal of the most terrible kind for years," she wrote.
Chenier said she finally stopped blaming herself after her therapist explained her genetic sexual attraction was not her fault. In a parent-child relationship, the parent must set the boundaries: By letting those limitations slip, her father was a sexual abuser, Chenier explained.
"Genetic sexual attraction is normal, and very real," Chenier wrote. "I want to say what I have finally been able to understand myself: that my attraction, and what it led to, was not my fault."

In a now-viral video, the father of two enters his daughter’s room wearing similar short shorts like the ones his daughter recently bought. “I came up with the idea to cut my shorts up after three weeks ago this past Monday, my daughter came out of her room and wanted to go ride the golf cart. When I saw what she had on, I told her ‘not in those shorts you’re not.’ So as a typical teenager does, she started complaining that they were the only ones she had. So I gave her my card to go online to buy a new pair and to make sure they were longer. Fast forward to last Wednesday, the shorts came in, and I just placed the bag on her bed. Didn’t bother opening it because it was addressed to her and I knew they were the shorts,” said Jason in an interview with Bored Panda.
“That early evening, she came out of her room again, and I stated, “hey love bugs, what are you doing?” She stated she was going to go out and ride the golf cart. Mind you, my wife Alison, son Walker and I were sitting on the couch as this is going on. I told her, Kendall, we just talked about this, you’re not going out in those shorts, go back and out your new ones on. She stated that those were her new ones. I asked her to go back to her room. At that point, my son Walker and I ran to my closet and grabbed a pair of my jeans. He helped me cut them into short shorts. I then proceeded to my daughter’s room, and my wife stated, ‘wait, I have to film this.’ And then the funny video came into play.”
Now, this hilarious family joke has over 45 million views, 863k shares, 200k likes, and over 95k comments, it seems that people do love it a lot. “Never in a million years did I expect anything I do to go viral. This is a normal day for us. Not necessarily the videoing but the goofing off and laughing at each other (in a good way) and just enjoying being a private family life. I do not post much on FB unless it’s about my kids (Walker’s karate or Kendall’s cheer). So, this to say the least is something they will never forget. The video was just for a memory.”
“Our family life is just as normal as any other. (If normal is the right word). We hardly ever argue, fight, etc. my wife and I are raising kids through positive discipline. We love our kids and do everything we can for them as we are supposed to do as parents. And trust me, they are awesome kids. Kendall has aspirations of going to Auburn University (but wants to be an Anaesthesiologist). They both are smart, loving kids. Kendall being a teenager, of course, will try and get away with stuff and push some limits, she is still learning. But they understand we do things for a reason as parents. It is important that our kids talk to us and communicate with us and not be scared to do so.”
“We are always pulling pranks on each other. Whether hiding in a closet with a clown mask on or my son and I waiting for my wife and Kendall to get home late from cheer and hiding to scare them as they come in,” Jason said Bored Panda.

I haven't worn shorts in years because women's fashion are completely impractical and men's fashion often don't fit right.
