Hi i'm 20 and I'm studying abroad in Paris. The other day, I was sitting down, and this french girl approaches me (she knows i'm a foreign student) and asks me all these questions about myself. Then she said something like "we should get breakfast or lunch sometime" and I said yeah sure. She then asked me for my phone number and I gave it to her. At this point, I felt like a million bucks, so here are my questions:
Do you think that she just did it to be nice, because I'm a foreign student?
How could I impress her? Try to be funny, etc?
I'm self conscious about how i look (i have mild acne and scarring), how can i forget these things and build my confidence for that day?
Ok, since you're studying abroad in France, do you know a lot about their culture before you went over?
Girls will be more forward over there, and looks are not such a big issue as it is for Americans. What do they like? They like to talk, they admire people who are smart and know how to comport themselves well. Be yourself, definitely, but know what you are talking about. Intellectualism is the biggest turn on, especially. Their culture reveres the intellectuals, the people they look highly upon? Scientists, doctors, etc.
Be confident in speaking to her, and definitely know what you're talking about, even if she disagrees. They LOVE to argue, especially about politics, it's a dinner conversation. But at the end, if she smiles, it's all good! Disagreements keep people thinking.

Just be yourself! Obviously that's who you were being when she invited you for breakfast/lunch.
Don't be worried about your appearance. She approached you, so she is certainly at least somewhat attracted to you.
Ask her questions about herself and her culture. Listen to her answers. Be yourself and don't worry about trying to do anything special to impress her.
She most likely asked you out because she is romantically interested in you and not just to be nice. It may be partially because you are a foreign student; some girls are really into foreigners.
