I've tried googling around and all I have found is a lot of example on how to format \today . But that isn't what I want. Instead, I want a way to format historical dates based on the localization given to babel.
Say, 'June 3rd 1994' in USenglish and UKenglish?

I think the reason for this is clear. Use \date{May 2017} .

I am making my own title page. I'd like Latex to display the date automatically using \date{\today} but this does not work, since I am not doing \maketitle
So instead of setting the date manually myself and worry about updating it, is there a way to make Latex use \date{\today} in my own title page?
I googled and gave up after 15 minutes search.

How do I remove the default date that a documentclass{article} adds in LaTeX?

Trending sort is based off of the default sorting method โ by highest score โ but it boosts votes that have happened recently, helping to surface more up-to-date answers.
It falls back to sorting by highest score if no posts are trending.
use \date{} before "\begin{document}"
Also ensure that you dont have any variation of this in your code.
{\large \today}
A blank \date{} will still use some vertical spacing. Check this post on TeX Exchange for a comprehensive list of alternatives, like the titling package.
