We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Data and Analytics Engineer to join our growing data team. You will play a crucial role in managing our data infrastructure, integrating various systems, and building an analytical platform. Your expertise in SQL, dbt, and Microsoft Azure technologies will be key to your success in this role.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into analytics solutions
  • Design and develop ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory to ensure the smooth flow of data from various sources into our Azure-based Data Warehouse
  • Utilize dbt to create transparent and scalable data transformation processes
  • Build and maintain data pipelines using Airflow to facilitate data transformations
  • Develop analytical reports and dashboards using Metabase
  • Collaborate with the product and IT teams to ensure data quality, data governance, and adherence to best practices


Requirements:

  • Strong experience working with SQL and relational databases, preferrably MS SQL
  • Proficiency in dbt for building and managing data transformation processes
  • Competence in data modeling (especially dimensional models/star schemas) to meet analytics requirements
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory
  • Expertise in orchestrating tools such as Airflow, Astronomer, Mage
  • Familiarity with Metabase (or other BI tool) for building interactive visualizations and reports
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities


Nice to have but optionally:

  • knowledge of C# or Python programming language
  • basic DevOps skill set such as Docker, GitHub Actions and Kubernetes
  • familiarity with IaC tools, i.e. Terraform
