The Role
You'll join a small, senior data science team working on distributional forecasting, inventory simulation, and ordering policy with real, immediate operational impact. The work involves handling messy, real-world data end to end, from feature engineering through to production model improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and improve distributional forecasting models across architecture, calibration, and coverage
* Contribute to inventory simulation and ordering policy frameworks
* Work with messy, real-world data to build reliable demand signals
* Conduct backtesting and monitor forecast quality in production
* Ship well-tested, production-ready code using agentic AI coding tools
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate operational findings into product improvements
* Contribute to methodology decisions and maintain a high bar for code quality
Ideal Profile
* Strong background in probabilistic forecasting, stochastic inventory simulation, or operations research
* Senior experience building systems that make decisions under uncertainty with real operational consequences
* Strong Python and SQL skills on large, messy datasets, with production-grade code
* Comfortable working with GCP, dbt, and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow
* Able to translate complex technical reasoning into decisions for product and operational stakeholders
* Comfortable working at pace, prototyping quickly, and iterating in a hands-on, fast-moving team
* Daily fluency with agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor
