Data Platform Engineer

As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be part of the company´s Data Lake team. We enable our colleagues to be agile and data-driven without having hard dependencies on centralized data team.
We like to use well established open source tools(Parquet, Avro, Spark, Airflow, OPA, …), but we are not afraid to go our own way when it works better.
We like automation and self-service over requests and tickets. We strive to provide our user's tools to solve their problems instead causing problems for ourselves and becoming a bottleneck.
If you are a software engineer with passion for data applications, building entire systems and not just single applications and you have interest in infrastructure(AWS in particular) this will be a great fit for you!
Our stack looks something like this:
◦ AWS(S3, Athena, EMR, ECS, EKS, Kinesis)
◦ Docker for packaging all of our software
◦ GitLab as the source control and CI/CD platform
◦ JVM(Scala), Python and TypeScript and some amount of SQL as our main languages
◦ Spark, Airflow, Parquet, Avro, Trino, OPA, K8S(on EKS) and Kafka are some of the open source tools we use.
We don’t expect you to have used all of that before, but we do expect you to be a practical software engineer that understands data and databases, is willing to learn and wants to be a part of a team that is designing and implementing a relatively large data system.
Must have: 5+ years of experience, English level at least B2.
