(( kind of therapeutic writing right now. )) "Hey tell us another tale!" "Yeah come on!" Arlene smiled slightly at the demand. She was sitting on the grass outside a small Inn, her audience of a handful of young children and some college students all sat in a semi-circle. She wasn't really sure how this hole set up had come to be, acting as a story teller for them. She didn't ask for money, this was just a way to help get the dreams and visions out of her head. Telling them as fiction -which she hoped they were- helped cope with the..more scarier images. Besides, sitting among a crowd of children was better than being alone. For the last few days she had left the Inn, sat on the grass to write or sketch and then slowly she gained an audience interested in what she was writing. One story lead to another, and next thing she knew the kids had dubbed her their personal story teller. Arlene didn't mind, kids were fun...though she wasn't sure why the adults came to listen -mostly guys- but she shrugged it off and decided to entertain them all. Now she was here, for the fifth day of her stay here in Romania, telling her next tale. Crossing her arms feigning a sigh she put off an tired appearance. "Such a demanding audience, really I should just leave." At their awe's and whines of protest she chuckled, "..but if you insist I shall tell another." Clearing her throat, which was now feeling a bit raw from all the talking. Really, she needed a break but one more tale wouldn't hurt...She would just take a small nap afterwards. "Long ago...in the ancient mountains; there lived a dark, and tortured Prince of great authority. He was a strong warrior, well read in the latest arts and history of the world. His people loved him, respected and protected him. Just as he cared for them in return, and with all his power he tried to save them from a spreading darkness. Though no matter how strong he was..the Prince was lonely, having been alone and unfeeling for so long made him cold and void of all emotion." That was partially true, though in her visions something told her it was something else that made him go cold. "The prince, in his despair and loneliness cried out to the heavens for some kind of comfort. He just wished for the loneliness in his heart to be gone." Some of the children -and a few men- looked sad at this, her heart also felt heavy because she honestly knew what that kind of pain..it wasn't nice. "Falling to his knees, the Prince gazed up at the sky and..his salvation came to him!" She smiled at the children's faces light up. "There, above him was a glowing raven. With eyes as bright as sapphires, it's feathers glossy and dark as an onyx. The raven cawed, breaking the Prince out of his despair. The bird informed him it was a she, and she had heard his desperate cries for help, and so moved with compassion the she bird came to his rescue." Again she was taking some liberties with what happened next, but honestly children didn't need to know all the dark parts...SHE didn't even want to know the dark parts. "Over come with happiness, the prince captured the bird and decided to have it as a companion to fill his lonely nights forever. However, the raven was upset. She had always been free flying, why must she stay put? Why could she not stretch her wings? When the bird tried to fly free he would become angry and scared, afraid something would happen to his precious companion but also afraid he would lose his friend." She winced because a small pressure was on her mind. Arlene paused a moment, shaking her head as she tried clearing away the images. It felt like someone was trying to..invade. "There were many hardships for these two young friends. The Prince, slowly learned to become more lenient and the Raven found that his actions were caused by good intentions...they weren't great actions, but she understood. Slowly they became closer..however, and evil creature was going to break their bond." The audience gasped..or the children did, the older boys and coeds looked interested. "The creature hated the prince, which was sad because he used to be one of the princes' loyal subjects. But he made a deal with an evil sorcerer, becoming a terrible entity of the night. Seeing the Prince happy made him enraged, and as punishment he stole the Princes beloved companion! They had a heated battle, the Prince angry at this creatures actions decided to end him once and for all! And in a mighty blow the Prince struck down the beast, destroying his blackened heart with lightning. A power he had of his own, and finally the best was dealt with...However, his poor companion and friend had been injured. Crying, he pleaded with God to save his friend.. and once he confessed to how much he loved the bird...she transformed! She became a beautiful maiden. She had been cursed as a child, given a power to touch peoples minds and heal their emotions. However, it caused her great pain and to escape her life she turned herself into a raven, going into isolation were no one could hurt her. But she had been guarded, and alone in that form for so long she had forgotten what it was like to be human. But through their love, they saved each other and both lived happily~" Smiling she bowed her head, signaling the story over. The children clapped and some of the college students looked mildly pleased, but she wasn't expecting them to like it. Also, she changed many things about her story...but she thought it best to keep at as far from her vision as possible. Standing up she dusted off her jeans, smiling at them all. "I thank you for hearing my tale. But now I must rest, I'll see you tomorrow okay?" With the chorus of 'okay's the children left to go be with their parents, the older ones slowly drifted off. Probably to join their friends and do something together...Arlene's smile dropped slightly, turning away from them to head back inside. This was the part of her trip that sucked...being here alone. Though, it didn't help that all her friends were in different countries and had lives of their own. What right did she have to ask them to come along? None... Even visiting historic sights left her feeling hollow because..there was no one to share the happiness with. It was one of the reasons she hated being single..maybe if she had found someone, he could share in these moments with her...but what man would want her honestly? With a heavy heart, Arlene headed towards her bedroom. Locking the door behind her before flopping on the bed, her body feeling heavy from fatigue and head throbbing with the minor encounter from earlier. What was that anyway? Incidents had happened like that before. Mostly in her dreams, when the visions assaulted her of things from the past. Things that are happening, and things yet to come...the latter terrified her more than the past visions...because, why was she seeing these things? What did they have to do with her? And the pain..the things that tried entering her mind, they felt cold and...void of everything good. Sighing, she forced her eyes closed and went to sleep. I'm not supposed to be thinking like this...this is my vacation damn it, and I plan on relaxing! She thought before finally drifting into a mildly dreamless sleep...

Everything was chaotic... Darkness... Evil... Coming for her. She had no idea where she was. All she could see was darkness, the presence of something evil and appalling filled the air with a horrible stench. Like the smell of rotting meat, and decay..or maybe mold. It made her gag but she couldn't vomit, her body was helpless in this dream world. The feeling of hands reaching for her neck made her scream, skinny hands grabbing her arms, legs and the feeling of being pressed against a chest horrified her. She could feel its cold breath against her neck, her mind was filled with horrible images...evil radiated off this ..thing! Panicking Arlene screamed and opened her mind to reach out for help...someones help. Anyone, she just needed to get away from this monster! Closing her eyes tight she wished for something else..somewhere to hide, someplace safe.... The sound of shrieks echoed in her ear, but some force pulled her away from the monsters grip. It felt like warm hands on her arms, they were gentle and strong. It made her feel safe, but still she didn't dare open her eyes. Please take me away She thought, and like that the shrieks disappeared from her. Everything felt...peaceful. However, it didn't last because before she could see what had pulled her away her body jerked, mind suddenly overcome with events. Arlene screamed, she was in the middle of a vision and her body was soon overcome with the emotions of the past. For her, the visions were like watching a movie..but worse because all the pain inflicted on the players she felt and they refused to leave her mind until she either wrote them down or said them out loud. The ones of past events seemed to be dull and sepia tone, like watching an old home movie. The vision she saw now broke her heart...a man trapped, tortured beyond recognition..Screaming for help, his soul going darker and darker..even when he found the woman who would save him, a person with red hair and radiated an aura of a healer. Even when he found her mind his instincts were more frightening, more animalistic and for a while as the vision went on Arlene feared he would kill her! Suddenly the images..moments passed faster..the battle, the blood shed, the words stuck in her mind though...why did they stick in her mind. It touched her heart..somehow, rang in her mind until she found herself mumbling her sleep. "Te avio päläfertiilam Éntölam kuulua, avio päläfertiilam. Ted kuuluak, kacad, kojed. Élidamet andam." Slowly her eyes fluttered, signaling she would wake soon. "Pesämet andam. Uskolfertiilamet andam. Sívamet andam. Sielamet andam Ainamet andam. Sívamet kuuluak kaik että a ted" her eyes opened, the words suddenly stopping. The rest of them..though pretty quickly left her mind, hard to remember like every night. Frowning she sat up in bed, hair tumbling past her shoulder, the curls now wild. Wincing, she pressed her fingers to her temples to try and message away the slight headache. "What a nightmare.." Again, the images of a past that wasn't hers was heavy on her mind. It would be like that for days unless she somehow released them, but to this day she still didn't understand why she was seeing these things. Usually visions gave advice, or some type of direction..but why must she see things of pasts that she was no part of? Why show her such pain, make her feel for people she would never meet?...Show things of horror, blood being shed and people dying and being consumed by darkness? Turning themselves into monsters, all because the yearned for someone to save them!? A sob escaped her, tears flowing freely as the pain she saw ran through her mind. Arlene wanted to same them, wanted to see those men happy but..she could do nothing. Only watch as these people who have suffered for so long, feeling nothing and yearning for hope..just give up. Everynight broke her heart more and more, but still the visions did not relent. "God please, I can't take much more of this pain." There was also the fact she could not tell anyone what she saw. Her mother didn't believe her, though honestly she was no help..the woman didn't care for her oldest daughter, up and leaving her anyway. Her aunt, another mother figure, wouldn't believe her..or worse she would claim that Arlene had been tampering into witchcraft and was now being assaulted by demons SHE summoned. No..she had to bare it alone. Quickly wiping her eyes she glanced at the clock, sighing as the numbers flashed 4am...again, an interrupted sleep. Sighing, she reached for the side table and opened the top drawer, pulling out the journal that been stashed in there earlier she began writing away. Everything from the dream. From the torture, the their appearance and every word said. At the end of the notes she write down their names, the ones from the dream. Shea and Jacques Dubrinsky..the Dark princes brother..

'Knock Knock' Arlene shot up from her open journal. Frowning, she glanced down and saw a slight drool mark on the page with the ink smeared. The pounding sound came again, causing her headache to throb worse. Wincing, she wiped her mouth before closing the book. "Yes? Who is it?" she called. I've gotta remember to sleep earlier...or try to block out these visions. "Miss Weaver? You in there dear?" It was a familiar voice. It was an older woman who she had met on her way to the Inn, Mrs. Crowley. A woman who was sweet but kind of nosy..or at least she was with Arlene. "I wanted to know if you want to join us for a hike." Not wanting to be rude she stood up, fixing her clothes and wild curls to look somewhat presentable before opening the door. Mrs. Crowley was a short woman in her late forties; with a sweet face, kind brown eyes and an open smile the woman reminded the young woman a lot of her grandma. Today Mrs. Crowley was dressed for a hike, with grandma jeans and brown boots. A blue and white checkered shirt and a camera were around her neck. "Evening mam'...ah, a hike sounds..nice." Even if her head was pounding, the out doors seemed to help her. Sleep sounded better, but since visions seemed to happen while slumber had taken its hold. Well, sleep was one thing she didn't want right now. "Wonderful!" She exclaimed, clapping her hands. "You'll love the hike dear. The out doors will do you some good- Oh and my son will be joining us, so you'll have someone your own age to talk to instead of the old people like me~" she winked. Arlene laughed. "Please! I don't mind talking to you, honest." She waved her off. "Oh no need to be nice dear. Now come on, the sun is out and there's no time to waist." Mrs. Crowley chatted all the way out of the Inn. It kind of amazed her how this woman could talk, and dodge people that walked in her way, so well. But the lady went on to say how she was visiting Romania first, taking in all the historic landmarks and hopeful vampire sites. That part Arlene was not so keen on visiting, the idea of seeing the places those demons killed..well it wasn't at the top of 'Must see' locals. "Oh it'll be exciting!" Mrs. Crowley seemed enthusiastic, grabbing her hand as they made their way towards the rental car. "We should see Vlad's castle sometimes, the man was inspiration for Dracula you know." Arlene chuckled. "I know, fascinating..but frightening man. But one must admit his actions scared the Hungarian's, so I suppose it would work out for him huh?" The older woman nodded. "Yes, Vlad the Impeller. You should read some of his history, it's good...very dark and gruesome in ways. Oh are you planning on traveling to Slovakia?" "Well I-" "Some good bloody history there too! Elizabeth Bathory, one of the worlds most disturbed women. Deadly too, she killed six-" "Oh jeez mom! Don't scare her away with vampire tails!." Arlene looked up to see Mrs. Crowley's son. Micheal Crowley was about her age, in his twenties and if she had to admit handsome. His eyes were blue -she was a sucker for blue eyes- which went along with his blonde hair, boyish smile and lean build. Truthfully, he looked like a typical American boy. But he was sweet... She smiled and shook her head shyly. "It's alright, really. I-I find these stories interesting." Micheal gave her a smile, causing her to slightly blush and look away. One thing she had yet to master, after all these years was talking to boy- err guys. She felt awkward and shy, constantly wondering if something was out of place. It didn't help that most of her interactions with them had been with her sister, who was the perfectly shaped and beautiful one of the family.Men usually ignored her, so there had been no need to learn how to talk with them. Is he interested? Being nice? How do I act? He placed a hand on her shoulder, a gentle gesture. "Well you'd be a first one, but least it means you know what were talkin about". he opened the car door for her, making a sweeping motion with his arm like some old time gentleman. "Come on let's go." She giggled, wait giggled? Gah! get a hold of yourself woman! Your twenty-five not thirteen! "Of course~ Let us be on our way!" The car ride was surprisingly fun, though Arlene suspected that Mrs. Crowley didn't get to chat with many people about her interest in vampires and frightening lore. The woman talked the whole ride, telling all the myths surrounding Romania and the surrounding countries. It was fascinating, but what Arlene enjoyed the most was laughing with her. The woman really did have the same energy of her grandmother, and was easy to talk with. Arlene found herself laughing, relaxing and even getting to go on her own tangents about novels and historical facts. It was nice... Micheal was also comfortable to talk with...listening to his deep, smooth voice go on about all the places they had visited. He wanted to be a writer, and the genre of horror and history was what he planned on doing. So his reasons for visiting the Balkan countries was a form of inspiration. This was also one of the most nervous times of her life. For one he had decided to sit next to her in the backseat, occasionally draping his arm above her seat. Not around her shoulders, but close enough to make her feel embarrassed and a tad nervous. Another thing was he kept placing his hand on hers time to time during the ride, smiling at her and paying rapt attention to her when she spoke of her trip and a few stories she had thought up. (well dreamed) It was nice... Maybe this trip can lead to new things for me! It was a shame that something, deep in the Ancient soil would put a wrench in the young woman's life. Something that would change everything, yet reveal everything as well....

Oh, just a quick post |D......I am probably doing a very crappy job describing Arlene's power. Buut, it is a tricky one to describe honestly...She has Clairsentience, or 'clear feeling', and she feels drained by being around too many people. She also has a form of Clairvoyance, but it only works on visions of the past and only if the emotions are strong. Reasons why she is getting the visions of the other Carpathian lifemates and their stories is because, well she is being tortured >>, I shall reveal later on who it is....I have to develop him more. But at the same time it is helping her Lifemate, since she can be heard mumbling the Lifemate chant. As for who her lifemate is...I don't know yet |D. Micheal IS romantically interested in her, haha and he has a gift as well, it's why he is drawn to her..also, it's why she can't read his emotions. He can block them from her.
