Welcome to Jonnie Danes, we are Jordan (Jo) and Lonnie. We have been involved in the Dane world Since 2005 and are completely in love with this breed. Our intentions for breeding are simple; to produce exceptional, healthy, well-tempered, sound Great Danes. We believe the relationship built with every dog we place should be a lasting one built on respect, honesty and trust.
A quality pedigree, a natural diet and discipline create a balanced pack mentality.

Please note: in order to be placed on our waiting list you must first come for a visit. Its very important to fully understand the size, temperament and dedication it takes to raise one of our dogs.

We are also the BC directors for The Love Of Danes Rescue Organization ( more information here )
We believe you should have to earn the right to own a breed this phenomenal. We make a solid commitment to each and every one of our dogs to place them with the best homes available. We teach them right from wrong, nourish to the best of our ability, discipline when necessary, encourage always and love unconditionally.
We have an open door policy and welcome you to come meet our family (in fact it's a must.) We are proud of the dogs we own and are eager to share our story with you.

Story is the foundation of Jonnie Danes we consider ourselves very lucky to be starting our line with such a quality bitch from our friend and mentor, Dantry Danes.
Story has been a delight since the first day we brought her home. Her saucy back talk is exactly how she acquired the name “Story.” A characteristic we wouldn’t give up for anything!
Story earned her Canadian championship in October 2011. She gained this title in 3 weekends, we couldn't be more proud of our beautiful girl.
Story is a pleasure to live with, she was born to be a mother and we knew that before she gave birth. Her first “baby” was our adopted cat Lewis, the second she laid eyes on that wild tabby cat she felt the need to clean and take care of him.
Her favorite thing to do is swim in the ocean, leaping through the waves and feeling the sand between her toes is heaven to her. She and Floyd would often conspire to break through the back gate of our beach house - often times they were successful at their undertakings.
Story is intelligent, loving and the most respectful dog we have ever owned. Everyone should be lucky enough to own a dog like Story.
Story had 3 litters in her career, she is the mother of Portland, Lennon and Kennedy. She is now happily living a life of leisure (but never wears sweatpants.)
Portland is Jonnie Danes first “Home Grown” baby. Earning herself multiple Best Puppy In Group placements and a Best Puppy In Show her first time in the ring, we are excited for her future.
The Daughter of Story and the highly respected DarkHorse Danes Go Big or Go Home "Remmington", this cheeky black bitch is one of the most elegant dogs we’ve ever met. As graceful and agile as a cat but as down & dirty as a pig when playing.
Portland is the most affectionate to us when we get home or wake up in the morning, every day is like Christmas for this excitable girl. When she sleeps in our room it’s mandatory to come bearing gifts, a mouth full of socks, bras and the occasional a t-shirt can be found entirely in her mouth. She always makes us laugh and waking up with her head nestled in our nook is heaven.
Story’s loving personality and Remmy’s humorous attributes have definitely come out in this breeding. We feel honored to have this divine lady apart of our family.
Levi came to live with us in March 2013 all the way from Ontario. Our expectations were high when adding a male to our pack. Precisely why we added another Dantry Dane to our growing family. The son of Hanna and Oakley, we are amazed every day by the dog Levi is becoming.
Solid in structure and sound in temperament this immense blue boy makes us excited for what the future will bring for our kennel. Levi is exceptionally confident and outgoing, when visiting downtown he expects everyone to greet him with compliments on how gorgeous he is. If not, offence is taken.
Don’t tell him I told you, but he also has a soft, sensitive side he shows to those he loves. His best friend and love of his life is Portland, she makes his world go round.
Born exactly one year after her half-sister Portland, Lennon is our beautiful "blond bombshell" not as quick as a whip but she’s got legs for days and always has the best jokes – even if she’s the only one who finds them funny. This sensitive girl never wants to stir up trouble yet chooses to hang with the one who’s constantly testing her limits – Kennedy! Kennedy and Lennon formed an incredible bond from a young age, only 6 months apart they grew up together. Kennedy always getting into trouble and Lennon always as quick as a gazelle to flee the scene when it comes time to fess up.
Always the first girl on a visitors lap, she’s extremely outgoing and carefree she makes us laugh everyday with her personality. Super respectful, playful and full of curiosity. She is the spitting image of her father Tino. She was conceived in California and has brought this pack a bohemian spirit.
Born from two power houses we knew this girl would be a handful. She is the most confident puppy we have ever had. She is always in the thick of it. Her strong personality will be one we cherish for a long time. She is from Story's last breeding and has stolen a piece of our hearts already.

The son of Protland and Levi - Bruce Wayne hits the mark and has taken the best qualities from Portland and Levi. Strong and outgoing like his father yet sensitive and kind like his mother, what more could you ask for in a dog? We had our eye on Bruce Wayne early on - he stood out from the rest with his larger than life personality. The future is bright for The Dark Knight.
Smith is the daughter of Levi and Lennon – she is the epitome of the breed. Outgoing, personable and stunning with a heart of gold.
Quirky, smart and sophisticated Smith is the ideal female. Kind and gentle when it’s called for but rugged and relentless when playing with her bestie, Jones. We are beyond excited to see what this powerhouse produces.
Smith has impressed us in the show ring being awarded a 2nd in group under respected breeder judge Dana Cline.
