While you're busy enjoying all the ultra-sexy scenes in Fifty Shades Freed , spare a thought for Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, who had a decidedly un sexy time while filming those very scenes. In an interview this week with Marie Claire , Johnson gave a behind-the-scenes look at all the truly awful things she's had to go through while bringing your fave book club books to life.
To start with what might be the worst possible bit of movie magic you'll read about all week, Johnson shared that she had to have her modesty thongs glued to her body during sex scenes. "I had these sort of strapless thongs that had glue on them. It's not glue, but it's sticky. They're, like, basically if it were a nipple pastie, but underwear. But it's only sticky at the top, it's not sticky the whole way. It would also come off because the adhesive would wear out, so then they would superglue it to my body so that it wouldn't fall off," she said. "I would wear two of them. It's not painful, I mean, it's barely anything. But I guess you have some sense of being covered. It's fucking bizarre."
No news on whether this prevented the classic hit "The Thong Song" from appearing in Fifty Shades Freed 's soundtrack, but we can only assume that Sisqo's famous instructions — "Baby move your butt, butt, butt" — would be impossible for Dakota thanks to her wardrobe's obligatory glue leaving her stuck, stuck, stuck.
For his part, Dornan had to cover his junk with a "little pouch." In case you still might be thinking shooting sex scenes sounds like a good time, let Johnson clear that up for you."It's super not glamorous; it's really unsexy," Allure 's February 2018 cover star said.
It's true: While Mr. Grey has an uncanny ability to turn on an entire movie theater's worth of people at once, Johnson said her experiences with Dornan in real life were much less fun. "[The sex scenes] are never easy. It's not casual and it's not fun. It never got easy," she confessed. One scene, in particular, was especially tough to film. "The most difficult one by far — I think in all three movies — was a sex scene in the third film where my arms and legs were handcuffed to a gate. It's like a fence thing that comes down. And I was blindfolded," she said. "It was kind of shocking because I didn't realize that no matter how prepared or rehearsed I was, when your senses are taken away like that you can't control the way your nervous system will react. So it was really tricky to navigate that scene. It was kind of difficult."
Johnson revealed that one (very understandable) way she and Dornan made it through those awkward scenes was by tossing back a shot or two beforehand. "Most of [our preparation] was just really figuring out exactly how we were going to accomplish the scene, so that there was not a lot of waiting around while we were both vulnerable. But if something was very, very difficult, it was sometimes necessary to have a shot of something strong beforehand," she said.
It also helped to work with advisors who walked them through the BDSM practices in each scene. "We just had people who specialized in knowing how things work, like how to use certain tools and toys. There's a certain method. It's very intricate and the details are really important. The rules are also really important," the 28-year-old said. "We didn't want to go make a movie about something we didn't research to the bone. So to really honor the BDSM community, we did it the right way."

Now it’s gettin’ steamy! Dakota Johnson apparently does get completely naked in Fifty Shades of Grey. In on-set stills shot by the raunchy flick’s director Sam Taylor-Johnson for W magazine , the 25-year-old actress poses completely naked in front of her costar Jamie Dornan .
“[Here] is Dakota Johnson, naked on the floor,” the caption by Taylor-Johnson simply reads on W ’s site. In the seductive pic, Dornan — fully clothed — sits in a chair while Johnson strategically covers herself laying naked on a carpet. 
“[This] is the best of my stills. Dakota holds all the power,” the S&M film’s director, who is also an award-winning photographer, wrote alongside another snap of Johnson, this time covered in a bathrobe, and Dornan.
Things then quickly escalate. In another snap, Dornan and Johnson act out a NSFW sex scene, but the image has been cropped PG-13 style for the magazine. (The NSFW version did hit the Internet, though.) “A still from the first lovemaking scene in the movie,” Taylor-Johnson shares. “There were probably 10 to 15 people in the room. It’s an incredibly intimate shot in an unintimate setting.” 
“This is my first studio film,” Taylor-Johnson explained to the mag. “So I quickly wised up to the fact that I couldn’t free-form it too much. Coming from a totally autonomous position to answering to a lot of people can be kind of a shock initially.” As for the sex, though? “We do get there eventually,” she said. “We definitely get there.”

Because it was a great year for nude celebs.
Each year, celebrity nude connoisseur website Mr. Skin puts together a list of the hottest nude scenes in movies and television. Dakota Johnson's performance in Fifty Shades of Grey takes the top spot for 2015.
There's something oddly titillating about ho-hum, run-of-the-mill R-rated movie nudity. My guess would be that it's because as adolescents, it's all we had. A movie your parents didn't know was on here, a scrambled "skinemax" feed there, all to catch a glimpse of breasts (it was a red-letter day if there was also bush involved). There's also the fact that we usually want to see famous people get naked , as evidenced by the "fappening" fiasco . The good thing is that as celebrity nudes website Mr. Skin has taught us, they (willingly) do or have done so way more often than you may think. Case in point: Their list of the best (nude) performances of 2015:

I have no idea how they arrived at these rankings, but looking at them it seems like overall, it was a pretty weak year for famous people getting naked on screen. I mean, ok, fine, Dakota Johnson doing BDSM stuff, I guess that's cool if that's your thing. But Allison Williams barely showed some butt in Girls , and I believe it was widely known that Lena Headey had to use a body double because she was pregnant when filming her nude walk of shame in Game of Thrones .
But still, there are some surprises! Sarah Silverman? Kristen Wiig? What's up with funny women also looking great naked? And of course, any time you can boast a nude Victoria's Secret model (i.e., Chanel Iman), you'll always have my attention. I guess there's no such thing as a bad year for nudity, after all.

She has been in a very low-key relationship with Coldplay's Chris Martin for almost five years.
And Dakota Johnson revealed that maintaining privacy was by design.
The 32-year-old actress is featured on the cover of the July/August issue of Vanity Fair as she touched on several subjects including her relationship with the world famous 45-year-old musician, the 'psychotic' process of working on the Fifty Shades Of Grey franchise, and her supposed feud with co-star Jamie Dornan.

Dakota and Chris are rarely seen on public outings together and have never even walked a red carpet together in the over four years they have been together.
She explained that the focus on privacy comes from many factors including them having a blended family and her upbringing as a child of two celebrities as she said: 'Maybe I think about relationships like that differently because I grew up in my family.'
Chris famously has two teenage children - 18-year-old daughter Apple and 16-year-old son Moses - with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. They were married from 2003 to 2016.

Dakota is the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson and is one of seven half siblings.
Of her relationship with her siblings she said: 'We were all cool.  Obviously, there were times where it was not cool, but I experienced that, so I don’t want that in my life. 
'I don’t want any kids to experience anything like that. It’s better to be kind, and it’s also really nice that everybody actually really loves each other and has each other’s backs.'

Dakota became a household name when she starred in Fifty Shades Of Grey in 2015 with sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed following in 2017 and 2018, respectively. 
She was asked if she regrets making the films to which she replied: 'No. I don’t think it’s a matter of regret. If I had known...
'If I had known at the time that’s what it was going to be like, I don’t think anyone would’ve done it. It would’ve been like, "Oh, this is psychotic." But no, I don’t regret it.'
There were also rumors of an on-set feud between she and co-star Jamie Dornan and she addressed those supposed issues.

'I know it’s weird, but he’s like a brother to me. I love him so, so, so much. And we were really there for each other. We had to really trust each other and protect each other.'
Though she doesn't regret working on the racy franchise of films, the actress said that the original film she signed on to wasn't exactly the one they ended up doing.
She said: 'I’m a sexual person, and when I’m interested in something, I want to know so much about it.

'That’s why I did those big naked movies. I signed up to do a very different version of the film we ended up making.'
Dakota explained that the studio, directors, and book's author E.L. James, who goes by Erika, contributed to issues for the film.
She said: 'She [James] had a lot of creative control, all day, every day, and she just demanded that certain things happen.'
'There were parts of the books that just wouldn't work in a movie, like the inner monologue, which was at times incredibly cheesy. It wouldn’t work to say out loud. It was always a battle. Always. When I auditioned for that movie, I read a monologue from Persona [the 1966 Ingmar Bergman classic] and I was like, "Oh, this is going to be really special."'

The star also said that James became enraged when Charlie Hunnam, who was originally casted as Christian Grey, dropped out of the film that she scrapped the script.
