I've purchased 2 Red Ryders for my father who loves dirt cheap shooting and cheap entertainment. The 1st gun was good for about 4,000 shots until one day he cocked it and the lever went limp and wouldn't fire. The replacement gun I purchased did the same thing after about 20 shots... cocked, wouldn't fire and the cocking lever went limp with no resistence. Called Daisy and their repair department had BOTH GUNS WORKING IN 5 MINUTES! Here's what you can try... 1) Turn on the safety. 2) Sit down and place the butt of the gun on your knee with the barrel pointing at the ceiling. 3) Try to cock it and see how far the cocking lever will go... It may go to about the 9 or 9:30 position on a clock, 4) Hold the gun firmly and with a good deal (perhaps a great deal) of force see if you can force the cocking lever on up until you hear 1 or 2 clicks. If you hear the clicks the internal jam is probably cleared. Take it outside, turn off the safety and see if it fires. IF it does you are good to go. This is apparently a common problem with a very simple fix.
I ordered one of these for my brother and now I might have to order a second one but for myself. As soon as I received this item I opened it under the pretense of, "testing it out." Unfortunately it doesn’t come with BBs so I ran to the store and bought a few to hold me over until the order I placed for some arrives. I then proceeded to sit on my back patio and fire every single one. The construction isn't as solid as the old ones I remember from hours of shooting these at Cub Scout camp but considering the low price, what modern constructed stuff is? For example, the cocking lever is now made of plastic rather than metal. I’ll note that while it may be plastic, it’s not flimsy. Then, on the other side of things, this seems far more accurate than I remember. It’s not the most powerful BB gun in the world, but at the same time, with spring loading, it’s not meant to be. I saw that a few people have had problems with jamming but in around 500 shots, I have yet to experience that issue. We play the Christmas Story marathon every year during Christmas so I'm going to make sure he finds this as his last gift like in the movie lol
I have purchased two of these in as many years, and they have both broken down within a few months. I bought them to shoot near, not at the squirrels invading my birdfeeders, and cocked, and fired, each one maybe 20-30 times a month, so it's not like I'm doing any "wild west" gunplay. Both rifles quit... the cocking lever broken down on each of them after maybe 200 shots each. After the second one quit, I e-mailed Daisy, and after over two months, I finally received a response, suggesting that I ship the rifle to them (at my expense)for repair... no thanks... not worth the cost for such a cheaply made in China piece of junk
About as good as a $25 gun can get. My only complaint is that I wish they would make one at double or triple the price with a metal lever, better sights, proper scope rail, and everything made out of legit metal parts instead of stamped sheet metal. Heck, charge $110 and put a gas piston in it. (Daisy's target version is not at all what I'm talking about... 240 fps doesn't cut it.)) The thing that is fun about this gun is that BBs, while far less accurate, are way easier to manage and shoot than pellets. It is a shame that there is no middle ground between this $25 BB gun and something like the $180 Gamo Swarm or $300 Umarex Gauntlet. And even if you transition to something like the Gamo Swarm or a PCP gun like the Umarex Gauntlet, you are still loading a clip of pellets one-by-one from a tin every 10 shots or so. It's not really the same as being able to walk around the woods shooting twigs or leaves for an hour without reloading. Would love to be able to buy an adult-quality version of this thing.
Perfect. Always wanted a Red Rider. Kids have a good time plinking and it's a great opportunity to teach them about firearm safety.
It's like be a kid again!!! So many good memories and friendship moments... I said : I'm gonna order one for me before it's too late to have fun again!!! I'm an adult now and have firearms but this rifle was the first one. For me is an American Icon.
We have a squirrel problem but live in the city. Therefore, we cannot discharge a 22 or something to get the problem permanently solved, so this is the next best thing. It is very easy to load, easy to use, and has discouraged our squirrels somewhat (it does not kill them, just makes them yell at us and leave).
I bought this for my husband for Christmas. It works great and we love sitting out on our porch shooting cans down.

Carabina daisy
Muy divertida, dejando de lado la potencia dado que no es lo que buscábamos, es muy divertida, como la cargas y amartillado para disparar. Es perfecta para estar un rato disparando a blancos de disparo, no es muy precisa dado que utiliza perdigones, pero a la vez, usar perdigones permite cargarla con 450 y poder estar disparando sin parar. Si alguno busca algo potente y preciso, está no es su carabina.

Caja original muy dañada
El rifle funciona y es bonito, pero eso es gracias al fabricante, la bonita caja estilo western antigua venía muy dañada. Incluso en el interior la arandela que fija el guardamanos al cañón venía suelta, bien por el producto pero la ausencia total de embalaje por parte del vendedor lo estropea.
