'WTF Wednesday': What could be worse than being raped? Your own father forcing you to marry your rapist!

Traditionally, fathers are supposed to be heroes to their daughters
And more often than not, they indeed are.
However, the same can't be said about this father from Idaho, who forced his 14-year-old daughter to marry her 24-year-old rapist. He did this, he claims, "out of deep and abiding love for his daughter."
The father believes that a man should marry a girl he gets pregnant
The father, whose name is being withheld in order to protect his daughter’s identity, had, according to The Associated Press, brought his underage daughter, who was impregnated by her rapist, from the US state of Idaho across to the US state of Missouri, where the law allows for 14-year-olds to be legally wed.
He told the judge that he loved his daughter and would never intentionally harm her but acknowledged making a bad decision. The father’s defense attorney argued that he was trying to help the couple all along, reported The AP.
He pleaded guilty to injury to a child and has been sentenced to a mere 120 days in jail and four years of supervised probation by Seventh District Judge Gregory Moeller. Why 120 days of jail-term?
Well, because, the girl was married to her rapist for 4 months, meaning 120 days.
So the judge, in his sentencing, said that "120 days is approximately how long this vile farce of a marriage lasted," while instructing the man to "sit and think about the 120 days your daughter was in a vile farce of a marriage to a rapist because of you" adding that his daughter "underwent great bodily harm based on some of your choices."
The rapist, meanwhile, was sentenced to 15 years in jail with the possibility of parole after having served three years behind the bars

The dad, of Idaho, US, was caged for four months after allowing the rapist to live with and marry his daughter, in what the judge branded "a vile farce"

A dad has been jailed after forcing his pregnant 14-year-old daughter to marry the 24-year-old man who raped her.
The dad took his daughter and her attacker more than 1,000 miles to Missouri, where teens under 15 are allowed to get married with parental consent in “special circumstances”, like pregnancy.
In a shocking outburst he told the judge: “If you get them pregnant then you marry them.”
Attacker Adam Seaton, who is now 25, admitted rape in April, which was reduced to statutory rape during the trial.
He is now serving a 15-year prison sentence, with sex offender treatment and substance abuse treatment.
A lawyer for the father told the court his client may have had a “religious motivation” to impose the marriage after she fell pregnant.
The victim is believed to have lost the baby in a miscarriage.
“[The victim] told me herself that her father asked her several times during the trip to Missouri, and even the day of the marriage, if it was something she wanted to do,” the lawyer added.
The dad was said to have “harboured and protected” a criminal by allowing the rapist to live with his teenage daughter.
But he told the court: “I love my daughter very much and I would never do anything to intentionally harm her or put her in harm’s way.
“I made the wrong decision, and I made that decision in duress.”
He was ordered to serve a suspended prison term of four years, and 120 days in a county jail.
The judge told him: “While you spend those 120 days in jail, perhaps you will think about the 120 days your daughter was in a vile farce of a marriage to a rapist.”
