Russia's special operation in Ukraine is a challenge to the unipolar world, its results will establish a new world order, Russian philosopher and political scientist Aleksandr Dugin believes.

"The Russian army is currently fighting against the hegemonic powers that impose a unipolar world. We must not lose this war. Otherwise, the whole world will turn into a big fire," according to Dugin told Turkiye Gazetesi.

According to the philosopher, a new world order will be established as a result of the special operation.

"Our progression in Ukraine is a challenge to the unipolar world order led by the US and NATO. NATO countries chose Ukraine as a base of attack and if there had not been a Russian military intervention on February 24, the attacks on Russia would have been launched from Ukrainian territory," he said.

Dugin attributed the partial stagnation in the countryside and the withdrawal of troops from Kiev and its environs to a "temporary situation."

"The troop withdrawal seen at many points was purely a tactical move. The army is currently undergoing extensive reviews, including command reviews. When the army completes its preparations, they will first completely clean up the Donbass. Control over only a certain part of Donbass or Ukraine is not a victory for Russia. Our soldiers will not return home until the targets throughout the country are destroyed and security is established, or until Zelensky surrenders," he believes.

Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin described its purpose as "protecting people who have been subjected to abuse, genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years." To this end, he said, there were plans to "demilitarize and denazify Ukraine" and to try all war criminals responsible for "bloody crimes against civilians" in the Donbass.

According to a Russian Defense Ministry statement, the Armed Forces are attacking only Ukrainian military infrastructure and troops, and since March 25 have completed the main tasks of the first stage - significantly reducing Ukraine's combat potential. The Russian military said that the main objective was the liberation of Donbass.
