DP-Master manufactures the complete range of Drill Pipes from 2 3/8” OD to 6 5/8” OD in Range 2 and Range 3 sizes up to 46 feet in length. In addition to standard API 5DP specifications, DP-Master also manufactures drill pipe in accordance with the following industry specifications:
DP-Master incorporates generous internal upset length (miu) and radii to achieve a longer and smoother transition back onto the pipe body ID. This lowers the stress in this very critical section of drill pipe and ensures maximum improvement to the fatigue life of the drill pipe.
Cold rolling of thread roots has demonstrated the beneficial effects to improve fatigue resistance of the connections by minimizing crack initiation.
Phosphate coating are applied to tool joints to all threads and seal shoulders of connections to improve anti-galling and corrosion.
Make & break performed under factory controlled procedures helps ensure product consistency. This helps to save valuable rig time and cost while reducing risk of mishandling incident and rig downtime.
Hardbanding on the tool joint or wear pad extends the service life of a drill pipe. It can be applied in several configurations to suit clients’ requirements. Hardbanding is applied under closely controlled conditions resulting in a uniform, low porosity, wear resistant surface. DP-Master also delivers smooth hardbanding with machined surface and bevels to reduce casing wear and also to reduce damage to seals in Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) Rotating Heads.
DP-Master is authorised to apply market proven hardbanding products including ARNCO, Postle, Tuboscope, and Castolin hardbandings.
DP-Master can supply internal plastic coating according to customer requirements. The coating forms a protective layer in the pipe ID to prevent corrosion and thus extend the life span of the pipe in the drilling environment. Internal plastic coating reduces pressure loss inside the drillstring with a 15% improvement in hydraulics.
With an identification system, drill pipe usage can be improved based on better, more accurate data regarding the length of time each pipe has already been use.
DP-Master can perform the installation of brass tags, 2D ID tags, as well as RFID tags on all our products.
DP-Master’s sour service grade drill pipes are designed for use in H2S environments providing excellent resistance to sulphide stress cracking compared to standard grade drill pipes. Our sour service grades are suitable for a wide range of sour service environments from mild to severe sour environments.
With offshore drilling operations being executed in ever-deeper water and extended reach wells, DP-Master’s high strength grades were developed to overcome the demands of the most challenging and complex drilling environments.

This tab defines the network interfaces of the PROFIBUS DP master. The parameters are defined in the device description file, but they can be edited in this dialog.


Every new device inserted into the bus is assigned an incremented address automatically.


Note: Address 126 is the default DP slave address. Addresses are checked for duplicates.


The highest station address (HSA) on the bus. To attain a stricter GAP range, you can indicate a lower address here.


GAP range: Address range that is scanned for new active devices.


: In case of an error, the master switches from Operate status to Clear status, and ends the communication to all assigned slaves as soon as a slave does not respond within the Data control time . The digital outputs are set to 0, and the analog outputs are set to the configured substitute values (FailSave). The master has to be reset in order to restart the communication.


: In case of an error, the master remains in Operate status and the communication to all slaves continues.


: The master has to be started manually.


Caution: Whether or not the setting is evaluated depends on the driver.


Opens the Groups dialog. Refer to the description for the Groups dialog.


These parameters define the time response of communication on the PROFIBUS.


The baud rates defined in the device description file (GSD file). However, you can set only the baud rate that is supported by all slaves.


: The values in the parameter table are reset to their defaults according to the set baud rate.


: You can change the values in the parameter table.


"Slot time" [tBit]: Maximum time interval that the master waits for the first signs of a response from the slave after transmitting a request.


Minimum "station delay responder time" [tBit]: Minimum response time that a device can respond on the bus (min. 11 Tbit)


Maximum "station delay responder time" [tBit]: Maximum time interval that a slave has to respond.


Idle period which must be taken into account during conversion of NRZ (Non Return to Zero) signals to other codings (switchover time for repeater)


"Setup time" [tBit]: Time for setup


"Target Time for Rotation" [Tbit]; projected time interval when a master should receive the token. Result of the sum of the token stop times of all masters on the bus.


GAP update factor G: Number of bus cycles after which the masters GAP (address range from its own bus address to the address of the next active station) is searched for an additional, recently inserted active station.


Maximum number of repeated request attempts by the master when it has not received a valid response from the slave


Time between two bus cycles when a slave can process a request from the master (time base: 100µs). The value here must agree with the specifications in the GSD files of the slave.


Maximum time when the response from the master must be received by the requester in a master-master communication (DP_Master class 2) (time base: 1ms).


Time [ms] when the master communicates its operating status with the assigned slaves. At the same time, the master monitors whether at least one data exchange each has taken place with the slaves within this period, and updates the Data_Transfer_List.


tBit : Time unit for transmitting a bit on the PROFIBUS; inverse value of the transmission rate (for example, 1 Tbit at 12 Mbaud = 1/12,000,000 bps = 83 ns).


In this dialog, you can assign the slave to one or more of eight possible groups. The groups are used for synchronizing the data exchange between the master and slaves. You can double-click the group names for editing.


: The master instructs a slave or a group to freeze all input values in a momentary state and transmit this data in the next data exchange.


: The slaves are instructed to forward all data synchronously that they will receive in the next data exchange from the master.
