DMX UPDATE: RAPPER IS STILL ON LIFE SUPPORT, FAMILY STATEMENT EXPECTED
DMX UPDATEContrary to social media rumours, DMX has not passed away and is still on life-support. #RIPDMX trended across Twitter on April 8th after comedian Luenell mistakenly cited the rapper as dead.
Soon enough, she deleted her ‘RIP’ post and apologised, saying the she considered someone to be “gone” when “your spirit leaves and your organs fail you.”
DMX’s manager took to Instagram to update and ask people to stop with the constant health rumours regarding the rapper. “Everybody, please stop with posting these rumours,” said manager Steve Rifkind. “DMX is still alive. Yes, he is on life support, but please, it’s not helping anybody by having them see these false rumours.”
“Let the family relax for a night, you’ll be hearing a statement from the family some time tomorrow.”
TEST UPDATES ON APRIL 8TH
TMZ reports that the tests performed on DMX to determine his brain function have gained results which are “not good”. Reportedly, the tests showed no improvement in brain activity since the rapper was rushed to hospital.
Manager Steve Rifkind is expected to be flying in to New York on Friday, April 9th.

When speaking to TMZ on April 6th, he confirmed that DMX remained in a coma and his condition had “not materially changed.”
“DMX is currently on life support and in a coma. There are multiple people with inaccurate information about his well-being and it is not helpful and productive,” he also told NBC News.
DMX is expected to undergo tests on Thursday, April 7th, to determine his brain function, allowing his family to determine the next step.

APRIL 4TH: DMX IS IN A “VEGETATIVE STATE” WITH ORGAN FAILURE
DMX’s lawyer Murray Richman confirmed to Associated Press that the rapper was admitted to hospital following going into cardiac arrest. Although it’s widely believed that a drug overdose caused the cardiac arrest, Richman said he could not confirmed those reports and was not sure of the cause.

According to TMZ, a family member said paramedics attempted to resuscitate DMX for half an hour, during which his brain was deprived of oxygen, which caused his current state.
On April 4th, DMX’s former manager Nakia Walker told BuzzFeed News that the rapper was in a “vegetative state” with “lung and brain failure”.
THE RAPPER IS RUSHED TO HOSPITAL ON APRIL 2ND
On April 2nd, DMX was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a coma and on a ventilator. Via a publicist, his family told Associated Press: “On Friday night, April 2nd, 2021, our brother, son, father, and colleague DMX, birth name Earl Simmons, was admitted to White Plains (NY) Hospital, facing serious health issues.”
“We ask that you please keep Earl/ DMX and us in your thoughts, wishes, and prayers as well as respect our privacy as we face these challenges.”
