DCTL Update 2021

It's been a while since I've given a proper update on the state of the "True Love Edition".
In case you're new to the project, Dawson's Creek: The True Love Edition is a fan edit that restores the original music to the series, as it was broadcast on The WB. All the DVDs and streaming releases have replacement music due to copyright issues (notably the theme song!), and this project allows you to watch the show as it originally aired, using the highest quality audio & video available.
When I say the highest quality audio & video, I really mean it. I'm a professional video engineer and editor by trade, so I'm experienced in how to properly deliver high quality content.
Pretty soon, the True Love Edition will hit an important milestone. Besides having the original music, the project will also offer the highest quality visuals ever publicly seen. It seems that Sony Pictures Entertainment has been preparing an official HD re-release, using the original film negatives. This article suggests the remaster may even be in 4K HDR resolution.
This official remaster hasn't been released anywhere in the US. Though we hope we will be seeing it soon on places like Netflix and Hulu, there's no guarantee that we ever will. After all, the show has certainly had some issues with contract negotiations in the past :)
However, I have been able to get my hands on this remaster in 1080p. I currently have all of Seasons 1-5 in 1080p, and my sources tell me I'll be able to get my hands on Season 6 later this month.
Unfortunately, this remaster has the replacement music, not the original music. So, I'll need to re-work all of the audio. This will take some time. I am doing this in my spare time, so I won't be able to focus on it as much as I'd like. I imagine that I'll likely be done with it by Christmas 2021.
The release will be done separately from the version that is currently released. The digital editions will have separate names: HD version and the SD version, just in case there's anyone out there that prefers the non-widescreen, original 480p quality.
The DVDs will not be changed. As you probably already know, DVDs are a standard definition medium (it's literally impossible to put HD content on a DVD, they max out at 480p). So, the DVD edition will stay the same.
