In a British study , blue eyes were found to be the most attractive choice to people with every other eye colour, including those with blue eyes themselves.
A total 34% of study participants ticked the 'blue eyes are best' box and 38% of people with a blue iris chose their own eye colour as the most attractive.
The colour of your eye is determined by the amount of melanin (pigment) in the iris, combined with the amount of light that passes through it. Baby blues have the least amount of pigment and let in the most amount of light.
Interestingly, blue eyes only exist in people of European descent, but that doesn't mean the genes haven't travelled far and wide as this list of hot male celebs will prove.

Blue eyes are a risk factor for Type 1 diabetes so it's fitting that Oscar winner Jared Leto has supported the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes in the US.
Leto doesn't have diabetes but he does have incredibly intense sapphire blue eyes.
Come on, he was born to be a star and those blue eyes! There's no contest. Definitely one of the hottest guys (with blue eyes) on the planet.
