Crown Sydney confirms data leak
Crown uses GoAnywhere, a third-party file transfer service affected by data breaches worldwide.
Crown was recently contacted by a ransomware group that claimed to have obtained a limited number of Crown files through GoAnywhere.
Today we can confirm that a small number of files have been released on the dark web, including employee hours, attendance records, and some membership numbers for Crown Sydney. We can confirm that the customer's personal information has not been compromised as part of this violation.
The Crown is actively informing all those affected and is updating the membership numbers of those affected with great care. The Crown continues to work with law enforcement and regulators on this cybercrime.
