Croatia Reinstates Mandatory Military Service After 20 Years

Hundreds of young Croatians have reported for duty, with the first 800 recruits starting two-month basic training in barracks across Knin, Slunj, and Požega.

Under the new system, up to 4,000 young men will be drafted annually for short-term training. Croatian General Kundid called the program “very dynamic and interesting” for recruits.

Training covers traditional military skills as well as modern capabilities like basic drone operation, drone defense, and cyber warfare techniques.
