A shooting at a Hollywood strip club early Thursday left at least one person hospitalized and authorities searching for the gunmen, police said.
Aerial photos showed a large crowd gathered in front of Crazy Girls strip club on La Brea Avenue near Sunset Boulevard around 4:30 a.m. as police swarmed the area.
Earlier reports indicated that two people had been shot. Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Rosario Cervantez later said only one person, identified only as a man in his 30s, had been shot.
He was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, she said.
Cervantez said the shooting followed an altercation at the club. Preliminary information indicates there are two suspects, she said. Neither has been identified.
Witnesses at the time told Fox 11 they heard at least 20 gunshots.
Calls to the club Thursday morning went unanswered.

After enjoying success with some of Hollywood's hippest venues, he's now set to take over Tinseltown's most iconic strip club.
David Arquette has shelled out $1.5 million on Hollywood's Crazy Girls club, which he plans to remodel and turn into an upscale burlesque venue, according to TMZ .
The site reports that the Scream star held firm on his offer, slightly below the initial asking price of $1.7 million, eventually winning out and gaining full ownership of the club and its fixtures and fittings.
Splashing out: David Arquette has paid $1.5 million for legendary Hollywood strip club Crazy Girls
The actor had reportedly been locked in negotiations for the past three weeks, and now plans to give the haunt a major overhaul, to give it an 'old school' feel.
Despite its close proximity to the Sunset Strip, the club currently represents an era of Hollywood past, becoming known as more of a kitschy landmark than hip hangout in recently years.
The 31-year-old venue famously served as the location where Mötley Crüe shot the racy video for their classic rock hit Girls, Girls, Girls.

While it's known as a strip club, dancers are only allowed to go topless, as the venue serves alcohol; dancers in California can only go completely nude in alcohol-free establishments.
David already has a stake in two Hollywood hot-spots - Hooray Henry's and Bootsy Bellows.
His plans to add a touch of class to Crazy Girls will likely sit well with his fiancée Christina McLarty, to whom got engaged in early July, three months after welcoming son Charlie West.

David, once married to former Friends star Courteney Cox, said his bride-to-be Christina was taking their wedding plans in her stride.
'She is the coolest. She is not hard core about it,' he recently said on US TV show Watch What Happens Live.
'She never pressured me to ask her to marry me. She is an incredible woman and I'm blessed to have her in my life,' David added.
