I took the Plan B One-Step Pill on Sunday (2/18/18) after a ridiculous accident where the condom managed to slip off and get lost inside of me (we got it out like two minutes later.) I’ve been cramping this whole day today, nothing too severe, and a bit of a back ache as well. I have an app that keeps track of my period, so I know I was meant to ovulate around Thursday (2/15/17) / the app so far has been accurate at predicting my period, so I’m positive that it was around that time. I’ve had cramping all day today (2/20–2/21). I’m meant to get my period around March 2nd. Is this type of crampi

Yes, that’s how emergency pills try to prevent pregnancies. Yet, emergency pills are a really lousy method. That is why they are supposed to be only really used after a rape or in case a condom breaks. And that’s why it is generally recommended to have a pregnancy test two or three weeks after the event. (Next time use condoms. Really: they work.)

Question posted by Josef7 on 28 Aug 2016
My girlfriend and I had unprotected sex. We were not using any form of birth control. Before sex, I hadn't ejaculated for days, I also urinated before sex. During sex, I never ejaculated nor got close to the "ending" path. I pulled out several times to check my penis, of course, there was pre-cum. I would also wipe my penis every time I pulled out. One of the times that I pulled out, the pre cum was a bit cloudy. I did research on that, and found that some reasons for that cause could be the mixture of our natural lubricants along with the friction of motion, exposure to air (I did pull out several times), and maybe different chemicals "ingredients" per say, that the pre cum contains. I understand that pregnancy is always a possibility when having unprotected sex, but considering the factors (No ejaculations prior and during sex, Urinating before sex), the chances a slim. Still, we decided to take plan B just to be on the safe side. Now, yesterday my girlfriend was having regular symptoms that she can identify to those that lead up to her period, the next day (today) her symptoms are gone. She was having cramps and her breasts were bloated and a bit sore.
MY QUESTION: Has anyone had on and off cramping?
I am a bit worried because I read several sites and articles, and an early symptom of pregnancy is "on and off" cramping. Unlike period cramping, which is consistent.
NOTE: she took two plan be pills within one week. Could this be the reason? Has it happened to any of those reading this even when taking one pill? I understand it causes a lot of hormonal imbalances, especially after taking TWO.
I had took a plan b on March 8th because the guy I was with the condom had broke we weren’t sure if sperm had went inside of me so I had took one just in case I normally get my period around the 13th or 15th of every month . It’s been five days and the cramps have been on and off I don’t know if the pill is working or not
did it work ? i’m going through the same thing as well
did it work ? i’m going through the same thing as well
Yes ! My period came four days late try not to worry or stress yourself it will come just give it time
oh really that makes me feel a little better thank you. i’ve been experiencing pelvic pain only on my right side and still no period. i took plan b the day after my period though ... pray that it works.
hey I have a question. did you have on and off cramping? with thinking your starting your period but you didn’t? Because I’m too young and scared. I need answers.
also, did you have brownish discharge every now and then?
Yes I did have a brown discharge it’s just old blood it means your period is coming
So having brown discharge on and off is a good sign?
What did you experience before you started your period this time?

Yes it's totally normal for cramping & bleeding (& other hormonal symptoms) to happen after using Plan B. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. It's caused by the huge dose of artificial hormone in the Drug.
Urinating before sex does not remove sperm from precum. That is a myth that has now been proven as just that, in a study by Human Fertility. Google it if you'd like to know more.
It takes 1 sperm to become pregnant, & Plan B is less reliable than regular hormonal birth control pills. so there is definitely still a chance of pregnancy.
Plan B is only meant for total emergency. It is not meant to be used more than once in any one monthly cycle, never mind in one WEEK! The huge dose in one tablet is enough to mess her body up hormonally for weeks & sometimes months, but there have been no studies done on the long term effects of taking a double dose so close together. In the short term, it can cause even more intense hormonal side effects. I did it once when I was younger, & ended up in hospital because the cramping & blood loss was so severe, I thought something was really wrong! As well as super intense hormonal side effects, her periods could be irregular for months. You really need to sort out regular contraception, as all these artificial hormones in overdose is not good for her body.
What date did you have sex, & what date would she have been due to start her proper period, had she not taken the 2 Plan B doses?
Also, how soon after sex did she take the Plan B pill?
We had sex on the 17th of August at around 7 pm. She took Plan B one step the next day (Thursday 18th) at around 11pm. Mistakenly, We had sex again within the hour of taking the pill. She took the second pill on Sunday the 21st at around 10 pm.
She believes it's due this upcoming week or the next.
During sex, however, I did not ejaculate (both times). And I pulled out several times and wiped each time. What do you believe are the chances of pregnancy?
And what about the cramping she had for about a day and then went away?
She didn't feel any pulling/pinching. She described the cramping to be higher in her stomach then usual. But all around her lower abdominal area was sore. I asked her if she felt it more on one side than the other, she said "no". She said it felt the same as her regular period cramps and sensations, but also felt it higher. The only other symptom she had was soreness in the breasts, but it died down the day after. Her breasts remain heavy and bigger in size, but she does not feel as much.
She is urinating fine, she has been drinking more water however and is urinating more often in normal and even larger amounts sometimes. I read that frequent urination can be a symptom of early pregnancy but it occurs in small amounts.
She says she feel quite normal, she feels her period coming soon. She doesn't feel "down" or tired much. Down feelings and tiredness are also symptoms of early pregnancy.
But, does nay of this matter? Is there still a chance of pregnancy? The most worrying thing for me was that cramping she had for a day and went away. I fear it was implantation cramping, but again, maybe its the 2 Plan B one-step pills taking this affect on her?
Yes it matters, as I’m trying to work out if she would have been fertile when you had sex. If she was fertile when you had sex, then Plan B will not work for her. As you say her periods aren’t regular (the same date each month), then it’s impossible to know if she was fertile/ovulating.
The second dose of Plan B was taken at almost the latest point you can take it 72 hours/3 days) & therefore has less chance of working than If she’d taken it sooner. So not only is there a chance of pregnancy if she was already ovulating, there’s also a chance because Plan B gets less effective as time goes on.
Withdrawing to wipe you penis of pre-cum is a waste of time.
It is way too soon to be getting any pregnancy symptoms.
All of the symptoms she is having are due to the huge overdose or Plan B! Even just the one dose is a HUGE dose of artificial hormone for her body to handle. You’re not meant to take it more than once in any one menstrual cycle. She’s going to get hormonal side effects for quite some time & her periods may be none existent or irregular. She could even get extremely heavy bleeding, or sometimes spotting. Everyone reacts differently. It could last months.
If her body was undergoing the implantation of an embryo, then now (& in the last few days) is when she would be getting implantation bleeding. It’s certainly possible that she is pregnant, but no other symptoms would be showing, yet.
If she does not get her period by the end of this coming week, then it should be possible to do an early pregnancy test, at that point. Choose one that says it detects pregnancy from the first day of a missed period.
So far, she hasn't had any bleeding since we had sex. If she doesn't have bleeding these upcoming days, does it reduce the possibility that she is pregnant? Or does it not matter?
Also. maybe I misunderstood what you wrote. Did you mean to say that it is most likely she is pregnant? or on the case if she WAS bleeding, then it is certainly possible that she is?
It doesn't matter if she bleeds or not. She could still be pregnant. Given all the factors I've mentioned that matter, there is a chance she is pregnant. I can't be more specific than that.
Yeah of course, there is no way to really determine a conclusion at this point.

I took plan b after unprotected sex with my husband 2 1/2 weeks ago, exaclty on my most fertile day (didnt realize that until later). Had possibly breakthrough bleeding one week after that, one week before my expected period. Now I'm 5 days late of my scheduled period and have been having minor cramping (which i rarely if ever get regularly) and slight nausea. Whenever I did have any cramping before AF it only lasted one day tops! Any imput as to what could be causeing the cramping?
Pleaseee someone respond! I had sex wit a guy on the 8th of April and took a plan b the next day and because the condom had slipped off. I had protected sex on the 12 after that and then almost a week later I started bleeding which is normal for me after plan b, I've taken it before. But then I had protected sex on the 24th. Then got my actual normal period on the 30th. It was only a day late. It was a little lighter and shorter than usual, probably shorter by about 2 or 3 days. I hear thats normal? Anyway a few weeks past and I had sex during my fertile time on may 13th or 14th and now im pregnant. My issue is, how do I know if it's from this month or last month? I never took a test last month because I thought that my bleeding twice that month confirmed it:( now I wish I had because I'm paranoid. This involves 2 different men so it matters a lot. Please help
It's not likely it would from the previous month if you had withdrawal bleeding and then your period, even if that period was shorter than usual. That can happen after ECP. If you have further concerns, call your doctor and he/she can help you further.
I need advice asap!! On tuesday 12th i had sex and my bf cummed in me, i took the plan B on the same day then on saturday 16th the same thing happened and i took another plan B.
