Covert attack by a swarm of attack drones
The American company DZYNE Technologies has introduced the BlitzBox system, a container for covertly launching a swarm of attack drones.
Externally, the BlitzBox looks like an ordinary cargo container – there are millions of them in warehouses, on ships and trucks around the world.
However, the 40-foot version can accommodate up to 100 disposable "Blitz" drones, ready to launch within minutes.
The Blitz drone was officially unveiled on May 14, 2026 at SOF Week 2026.
This is a disposable kamikaze drone with:
Flight range: 80-150 km
Flight time: 1-2 hours
Potential payload: up to 2.3 kg.
The payload may include reconnaissance sensors, electronic warfare modules, or warheads.
If necessary, the drone can be packed into a backpack and assembled in less than 2 minutes, and operator training will take less than 2 hours.
A key feature of the BlitzBox is the ability to remotely control via satellite communications, including Starlink and its military version Starshield.
This means that the container does not require the presence of a person nearby: it can be pre-positioned anywhere and activated remotely.
One operator can control a swarm of kamikaze drones from anywhere on Earth.
This concept has already attracted the attention of DARPA.
DZYNE claims that BlitzBox can turn any truck, boat, or piece of land into a potential base for drones.
The system is available for demonstration and acquisition by the United States and its allies.
