Two viral videos showing a couple having sex in their private outdoor jacuzzi in a Hong Kong hotel have ignited privacy concerns among social media users.
The videos, which were reportedly shared on Facebook and WhatsApp groups several days ago, show a couple having sex in their private outdoor jacuzzi as another person films them from above.
It is unclear when or where the videos were taken. Some social media users believe it was filmed by another guest or an employee at a hotel in North Point that offers rooms with a private jacuzzi on the balcony.
In one of the viral videos, the woman is seen sitting on the edge of the jacuzzi while eating a bowl of noodles with her partner’s head between her legs. The other video shows the man hugging the partially naked woman from behind.
The person behind the camera managed to film the couple through the gap of a balcony railing.
Some social media users raised concerns over the hotel's design, pointing out that those staying on the floors below won’t have any privacy from other guests on the upper floors. Others, however, called out the person filming the couple.
“ It’s so cheap to secretly film them,” one user wrote.
“ Have you thought of the harm you’ll bring to those involved,” another said.
The Hong Kong government passed the Crimes (Amendment) Ordinance 2021 on Oct. 8, covering four new offenses, including “voyeurism, unlawful recording or observation of intimate parts, publication of images originating from voyeurism or unlawful recording or observation of intimate parts as well as publication or threatened publication of intimate image without consent, and related matters.”
According to Hong Kong media , under the law, anyone found exposing themselves in public could face a fine of 1,000 Hong Kong dollars (approximately $127) and a six-month jail sentence.
Publishing a video showing indecent acts online, such as the case of the person who filmed the couple, is a violation of Hong Kong’s “Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance,” which carries a fine of up to 1 million Hong Kong dollars (approximately $127,421) and three-years’ imprisonment.

A SHOCKED hotel guest filmed two randy couples romping openly in their hot tubs below his balcony - and now HE could face jail.
The man said he got out his camera to aid law enforcement, but now he could fall foul of indecency laws in Hong Kong.
The footage shows the view from one of the balconies at a tower block hotel in the North Point area of the former British colony.
One floor below, a half-naked woman is seen tucking into a bowl of noodles while sitting on the edge of their open-air jacuzzi.
Her partner submerged in the water appears to perform a sex act on her.
Meanwhile another randy pair are getting steamy on the balcony hot tub next door.
The woman can be seen writhing up and down on the man's lap.
Both couples can be seen and heard by other guests, while families splash in the swimming pool below.
The man who filmed it denied he was spying on the lovers.
He said they should not have been romping in the outdoor jacuzzis and intended to pass the footage to police
He said: "The rooms were not private. They were aware that other hotel guests could see them.
"This is why I recorded their inappropriate behaviour. I did not expect to see people doing this when I stood on my balcony."
Hong Kong barrister Albert Luk Wai-hung said people having sex "in public view" could be jailed for up to six months.
However, anyone who films it could also land in hot water.
The lawyer told local media: "A person who, without lawful authority or excuse, in any public place or in view of the public, indecently exposes any part of his body, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction of a fine and imprisonment for up to six months."
He added: "Further to this rule, the video taker may have also violated the Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance and could be duly punished."

A UK couple took their love life to new heights while having sex on a cliff in full view of restaurant diners. A clip of the steamy seaside sexcapade is currently blowing up online.
“I was pretty shocked, to be fair. I was just amazed,” an unnamed onlooker, who filmed the cliff-bangers, told NeedToKnow of the X-rated display, which took place Thursday afternoon near Swanpool beach in Falmouth, Cornwall. The camera person was reportedly dining at the Hooked on the Rocks restaurant when they noticed the high-altitude hanky-panky session going down on the bluff opposite the eatery.
“An elderly couple turned to me and said there was some live entertainment going on behind us,” the videographer described.
In the salacious footage, captioned “Got to love Cornwall,” the naked duo can be seen graphically making whoopie on the grassy bluff from multiple positions as the spectators guffaw in the background. All the while, hikers can be seen traversing a path above, apparently oblivious to the lovers’ antics.
“The cliff sits to the left of the beach and from our side, the cliff is out in the open, but from the coastal path, there would have been quite a drop,” explained the camera person of the edgy love sesh. “So those walking up the path likely wouldn’t have known.”
They added that the couple got it on “for about 30 minutes, then they just got their clothes back on and left.”
“I think everyone was just hoping they didn’t walk through the door next,” the onlooker joked. “Talking to a staff member in the local coffee shop, and she said, in all her years, she’s never seen anything like that.”
And while public fornication might seem scuzzy, the bystander gives the sexhibitionists props “for having the audacity” to love on the edge.
