PDA comes in all different forms, but there are some couples who just don’t know when they've gone too far.
PDA – public displays of affection. These can be anything from a sweet peck on the cheek in a crowded place, to a full on make-out session on the concert grounds. PDA comes in all different forms, but there are some couples who just don’t know when they've gone too far. These are the incidents that leave all the single people feeling awful about their loveless lives. It is during these times when others want to hurl with disgust at the display of affection going on in front of them. PDA is probably what encouraged the saying “get a room!” Do we have the right to shout that out if a couple is getting a bit intense when showing their physical attraction to one another?
What is it about PDA that makes us so uncomfortable? Perhaps it’s simply that some couples are willing to to put their passion on display, whereas others are really not. No matter how you feel about it, there are some intimate displays that go just a tad too far. Social protocols should still be adhered to!

At the 2011 Stanley Cup game, the Vancouver Canucks went against the Boston Bruins (the match taking place in Vancouver). When the Boston Bruins won the game, Vancouver fans were outraged. Riots erupted all over the streets, buildings were set on fire, fights broke out, and other destructive behaviors ensued. It was said that about 140 people were injured. But it wasn’t just violence that broke out, but love as well! Yes… there were two people making out in the street. It is understandable that when in a group, people will experience the same feelings as everyone else. That is how riots start. But the urge to suddenly plop down in the middle of the street and get frisky? Maybe there is something about the heat of the panic-filled moment that makes people do crazy things. That is an interesting feeling to experience. This couple in the picture just took the excitement and let their PDA go too far.
It isn’t uncommon to see people sleeping in random places. Human beings have the uncanny ability to be able to fall asleep just about anywhere! In the train, on the grass, on a street, etc. Having a nap is fine, but when a nap turns into something like this… well then, we begin to question things. This public display of affection goes beyond a gross kiss or a heavy make out session against a wall. This is full on getting busy in the public eye! The better half of us wants to believe that she is just exhausted and is just resting her head against his thigh. But the rest of us know that this is PDA at its worst. What we don’t understand is why here? Why not in a bathroom out of sight? Why did this couple choose to have some fun on a dirty, moving, crowded train? The things people do we will never understand.
When we see an older couple holding hands, we usually think it is the sweetest thing ever. To grow old together is considered so pure and romantic! We can't help hoping that our relationships will be just like theirs. But just because they are old does not mean that they aren’t getting down and dirty! This couple is just a bit braver than other, older generation couples. They like to show that you can be any age and show a bit of PDA! This couple, for example, wants everyone to know that they still have fun in the bedroom! Either that or she has the ultimate wedgie and needed some help from her man to pick it out. This type of PDA is one that makes us cringe in disgust. The fact that he just has his hand casually resting in her pants up her butt while sitting at a local bar is astonishing. This PDA definitely went too far!
Benches are for sitting on. They are for taking a short rest after walking through a beautiful park. They are for having long conversations while watching the sun set. They are definitely not made for a straddled make-out session. Parks are public places, which means that everyone can visit them: grandparents, children, teenagers, and mothers. What would compel a couple to sit on a bench and straddle one another in plain view of everyone? Wouldn’t they be ashamed if their grandmother was going for her afternoon stroll and came across her grandson in said position? For some there are no limitations on what they feel proud to show to the world. Think of the children, though! All the questions they will have for their parents and teachers after they see this couple sitting on the bench in such a position! This is one couple that took their public displays of affection just a step too far!
It appears that getting physical on the train is a popular thing to do. Perhaps the jerky movements make for a fun challenge. Or maybe public displays of affection are just that common. So, welcome to the PDA express! This couple found themselves a nice corner with a wonderful hand rail for support. At some point, they just leaned into one another and decided to try out their best French kisses for all to see. Of course, this couple had the perfect spot - right next to the door so that anyone trying to board the train would have to bump awkwardly into the affectionate couple. They must have decided that this was the most inconvenient spot to make out and therefore chose it as their own. Please, for the sake of us all, find another spot to love on one another! These two are just another couple that took their public displays of affection too far!
When we tell a couple to “get a room,” it is usually a subtle way to say “stop it!” But some couples take this as a suggestion to actually go and find a room. This couple decided to go and carry on their love exchange in the men’s bathroom of all places! Unfortunately for this guy, he had to be the one who was already in the room and catch them in the act! No sense of privacy with this couple around. On the bright side, if you have anything bathroom-related to be ashamed of though, these two are probably too busy to notice. What we just can’t seem to understand is how is THIS a romantic spot to make out? There are urinals behind you, leaning up against a dirty and possibly wet counter, and the beautiful sounds the body makes surrounding you in a symphony of smells. This guy’s face says it all. He may be thankful that they “got a room,” but it’s time to find another bathroom. This one is occupied.
A beautiful summer day is the perfect opportunity to go out and have a picnic at the park. Why not have a roll around in the grass as well? At least that was what this couple was thinking. With people surrounding you, why wouldn’t it be the perfect opportunity to grab each other’s bodies and get frisky? Thankfully, to reduce the awkwardness and awfulness of the situation, these two came along. They figured that if this couple was going to ruin a perfectly good summer day with PDA, then they would ruin the romance for them. They posed on either side of the embracing couple and sported goofy grins on their faces. We can only hope that this couple saw the photo mocking them and reduced their PDA from then on. What can we say is this is another couple that took PDA too far. Thank goodness for these goofballs that the PDA wasn’t as terrible as it could have been!
Kissing in public is not an extreme form of PDA. In fact, it can be sweet to see that a couple is proud enough of their partner to give them a peck here and there. Make out sessions are a step up in the PDA scale, and most people don’t appreciate witnessing a couple go at it. Then on the extreme side of the PDA scale are people like these two. Their kissing cannot even be considered normal anymore. They were full on doing some mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, tongue included! This is the couple that you do NOT invite to the company Christmas party, or the casual get together at your house. This is the couple you don't want together all costs. Inviting one of them is fine, but as soon as the two are together, the PDA is awful. If you just got a shiver down your spine after looking at this photo, you will agree that this is a couple that took PDA too far.
When we see celebrities holding hands in the streets or at the beach together, we usually go wild. The tabloids are filled with their romantic pictures, and we ooh and awe over their celebrity love. But there are also celebrities that take the physical aspect of love a bit too far. Take Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez here. This couple (now no longer an item) got cozy on the couch in their bathing suits - cozy enough for Selena to throw her bare legs over Justin and get a much-desired foot massage, that is. For some reason, there is something about foot massages that make people very uncomfortable! Maybe it is just the fact that someone else is touching their feet, or that it is a weirdly sensual part of the body that should be left for alone time. This widely public foot massage is enough to make us agree that this form of PDA just went too far.
The mechanical bull is definitely one ride that everyone wants to try. The challenge of balance, coordination, and trying not to be thrown off is exhilarating! This couple thought they could make their bull riding event a bit more exciting by hopping on and straddling each other. As if that wasn't challenging enough, they upped the ante by also making out while trying to stay on. If they thought this would be funny and entertaining for those watching, they were very wrong. People were just weirded out that they would even think of such a strange way to do PDA. Just be a normal public couple and go make out against a wall! They must be wanting to flaunt their physical love with this little bronco ride. It just makes you wonder how long the couple actually stayed on? Maybe they got a good buck and were sent flying onto the mat below! Now, THAT would be entertaining!
Love comes in all shapes, sizes, and various forms. If movies have taught us anything, it is that love can happen anywhere and with anyone! This couple just went out to prove the world that nothing can get in the way of love… not even an uncomfortable wheelchair straddle! On a subway train, no less! And to top it all off, these two were determined to make their physical affection happen in the most unusual and awkward place. The picture is definitely a depiction of terrible PDA, but it also makes you wonder just what she had to do to get on the wheelchair Legs over the arm rests and feet behind. If you think about it enough, you can imagine it would be quite the maneuver! But despite the wild acrobatics to get onto his lap, the PDA is still too much. We appreciate your determination to make your love happen anywhere, but please do these things at home.

But what happens when a couple tries to do new positions along with make out sessions in public? This couple was trying to master the hardest form of stairway acrobatics known to the world of kissing. Anyone that passed this couple probably furrowed their brow and wondered, “What the heck are they doing?”, as well as, “WHY?!” This is the type of experimental kissing that should be taken away from the view of the world. We don’t want to see you sit on your boyfriend, straddling him on a stairway. As well as being disgusted, you probably are wondering what would happen if his feet were to slip off of the stair he is perched so dangerously on? Perhaps someone who hates PDA would be gutsy enough to test that theory.
Everyone has a different opinion as to what they like when it comes to physical affection. Some people enjoy keeping their eyes open when they kiss, others like it when their hair is constantly stroked. But what happens if something someone likes is disgusting to another? For example, this couple getting a good face sucking in the middle of a dance floor. Many would agree that this type of physical affection is weird. But if it was kept to themselves behind closed doors, we could care less. Now that they have decided to show off the size of their mouths in public, we have suddenly become included. We have all been forced to watch this train wreck and try to turn our eyes from all of the slobber. Our minds are now scarred and we will be afraid to kiss anyone new once we have seen this. This is a couple that took their weird kissing PDA too far!
