A couple has transformed their 'grubby' one-bedroom apartment into their dream home on an impressively low budget.
Charlotte Knowles and Shaun Yates have spent the last year consumed by watching YouTube videos and addicted to Pinterest so they could renovate their apartment without spending a fortune.
Neither of them had any DIY experience before they started the total refurbishment - but it has now gone so well they are considering buying another property to do up.
With the help of Youtube videos and Facebook Marketplace, the couple completed the majority of the work by themselves - and they can't believe the difference it's made, reports the Liverpool Echo.
In the space of 12 months, they have renovated the whole apartment including the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and hallway at a cost of around £4,000.
Charlotte, 23, told the Echo: "We thought we're never going to get the opportunity to do this again.
"We're both 23 year old's and we did it all following Youtube videos.

"My partner built everything and I designed it. He doesn't have any qualifications in building or plumbing, he's done everything himself."
Before they began the project, Charlotte said the apartment had damp problems, a "grubby" kitchen and the wallpaper was hanging off in the bedroom.
But they didn't let the size of the job put them off and took inspiration from their favourite coffee shop in Rock Ferry when it came to design ideas.
Charlotte said: "I've been addicted to Pinterest, I took snippets of little pictures and said 'let's do that' and then I've sketched it out and he's built it.
"The biggest transformation has definitely been the kitchen, we've completely changed the whole layout.
"We've done everything ourselves apart from the plastering and the moving of the gas pipes."
In the kitchen, the couple uncovered an original brick fireplace that had been plastered over.
They used scaffolding boards to create a kitchen table and pulled apart pallet crates and cut them to size before sanding and staining them for the wood on the walls.

When it came to finding furniture, Charlotte found bargains on Facebook Marketplace and the likes of eBay and Gumtree.
"You need to look hard and look often," she said. "Decide what you're after and what you're prepared to spend and look all the time."
Charlotte also repurposed old furniture from friends and family including an old Chesterfield sofa which she used to create leather bar stools and a booth in the kitchen.
The Rangemaster double oven, which cost in the range of £2,000 from new, was also given to the couple secondhand by a friend for free.
If it wasn't for lockdown, Charlotte said they would never have had the time to embark on such a big project in the first place.
But after coming to the end of the renovation, they have caught the DIY bug and are keen to buy another property to renovate and sell on in the future.
Charlotte said: "The whole process has been amazing. It feels like we're walking into a totally different apartment.
"We'll probably buy a property at auction or one below market value and do it up in a similar way to how we've done the apartment."
